Hey y'all, I've kinda been holding on to my January MCAT scores because I didn't really have much to do with them at the time, but now I feel as if it's time to make a school list.
cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS: 3.4cgpa/3.3sgpa
MCAT score(s) and breakdown: 518 (130/130/130/128)
State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): MO
Ethnicity and/or race: African American Male
Undergraduate institution or category: state school
Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): 125 hours at hospice, ~20 hours at a homeless shelter clinic
Research experience and productivity: on lab at school now (300+ hours, 1 poster); accepted into summer research program for this upcoming summer (unfortunately has been cancelled but they are discussing a remote internship -- should I still count the acceptance on my application?)
Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 50 hours shadowing otolaryngologist, pediatrician, cardiologist
Non-clinical volunteering: 100+ hours with Boys and Girls Club/Big Brothers Big Sisters (I directly mentored a couple young, AA boys); ~50 hours helping seniors at low-income nursing home; some other stuff I can't remember right now lol
Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): Internship that helps bring low-income, first-generation students to college (often minorities); on executive board for conference that aims to inform minority high school students about health professions; on executive board for college bowl trivia; ~1,500 hours at on-campus job
Relevant honors or awards: received full-ride to UG school, have specific awards that I don't want to say here (identifiers)
Anything else not listed you think might be important: I identify as gay, and I come from a low-income, first-generation background. I funded college entirely through my hard work! Further, upon admission to my UG, I was asked to be filmed for a mini-doc about my life due to my "inspiring story"
should I do a smp or post-bacc? or is that overkill?
