Hi guys!
I am a nontraditional white female, California resident looking for help with my school list. I had to work two jobs throughout college to support myself and my GPA unfortunately suffered because of it. I have a 3.31 sGPA and I think a 3.25 cGPA. My MCAT score is a 517 (130/128/131/128). I know my GPA is low, but I am really trying to avoid doing a post bac because I'm already 27 and don't have the time or the money. My application should be verified in the next few days so I will have my app in pretty early this cycle. Here are some extracurriculars:
-100+ hours volunteering in the emergency department
-Insane amount of hours in paid nonclinical employment
-200+ hours volunteering with homeless community
-~40 shadowing hours
-Over 100 hours as a paid medical scribe
-Over 100 hours as a volunteer medical scribe
I also have a few more hours in other volunteer related things, but no research experience.
I am applying to both MD and DO, but really hoping for an MD acceptance. My dream school is UC Riverside (I AM from the inland empire) but I will go anywhere in the country. I am willing to apply to as many schools as I need to. Thanks for the help!
