Hi all,

I'm a reapplicant from last cycle and need help picking a school list. I'm planning on applying to 30 schools (25 MD, 5 DO probably) and would like feedback on my school list.

3.71 cGPA, 3.7 sGPA, 519 MCAT
2.2k hours as scribe, 650 hours as an MA
No research
Very limited shadowing, chose to not focus on shadowing due to scribing experience
Lots of leadership experience
~250 non clinical volunteering experience as a tutor and kids coach
OR resident

Any other schools that I would have a solid shot at? Also should I adjust my ratio and apply to more MD schools? Or is 25:5 OK? I applied to 15 schools last year with no II given.

Take your time, I appreciate the help! I'm honestly just worried as I'm not sure why I didn't get in last cycle.

I didn't have any research or shadowing listed last cycle. Do you think it's because of this? Or was it just a matter of applying to 15 schools only and possibly school list problems. I would really like to prevent another cycle blunder which is why I'm applying DO too.

I suggest the following. But invest in MSAR Online and delete those schools where your GPAs are less than their 25th %iles.

I was complete with most schools by mid/late August (including my state school). There were some schools I submitted in late July. I continued volunteering as a tutor until October when the organization closed down and continued scribing until beginning of 2022. I started my MA position in September which has been ongoing. I had close friends, medical students, and close family read over my primary apps but didn't get that much eyes on my secondaries last cycle. No interviews at all last cycle 🙁

If there's anymore feedback, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you for the list, I'll take a look at them.
