Any help would be greatly appreciated. GPA 3.7, sGPA 3.65, 27O (9V,10PS,8BS) and 27Q (7V, 10PS, 10BS) on the MCAT. Iowa Resident. Decent extracurriculars with research and clinical volunteering and shadowing. I have a letter from an MD, but not a DO. I have eliminated the schools that require a DO from my list. I am planning on applying to about 7 or 8 DO schools.

The list I am considering from is...
AT Still (MO), AT Still (AZ), Midwestern (IL), Midwestern (AZ), DMU, Kansas City, Mich. St., NYIT, Nova SE, Ohio U, Pacific NW, Philadelphia (PA), Philadelphia (GA), Touro (CA), Touro (NV), Touro (NY), MedandDen NJ, Edward Via, WV, Western, William Carey, and Pacific NW.

Based on some research of average stats and curriculum, I have made my preliminary list of schools to be AT Still (MO), AT Still (AZ), Midwestern (IL), DMU, Mich St, NYIT, Touro (CA), Touro (NY), Philadelphia (PA), and Western.

I could not find a ton of data on in state vs. out of state preference though. Based on my grades, MCAT, and state of residence, what do you think of my school list? Thank you in advance for all your help.

Unless the school is funded by the state it is in, I don't think IS vs OS makes much of a difference. Or if it is in the school charter, like Western U has a NW campus in Oregon that takes about 50% students from OR and WA.

Also, you listed Pacific NW twice in your list...

Try to apply to md schools that take the highest score of your mcat that way you hav a 29.

Thanks for the help. So does that list of 10 schools seem reasonable or should I change a few of them?

Where do you want to live? With your stats you will probably get interviews at all schools you apply to, so choose schools where you think you'd like to spend the next couple of years.

Any other opinions? I know most deadlines aren't until February, but am I too late for any of the DO schools?

Apply to wherever looks interesting to you. Your numbers are competitive enough to at least have a solid shot at all of the schools you listed.

Get rolling on those applications. It would be in your favor to be done with all secondaries before the middle/end of November. Sure you can get in if complete later but it's not any easier.
