Trying to shorten the list, but its hard to decide. I don't want to take off too many small town schools and be left with an unbalanced school list.

Out-of-State: Interviewed Matriculated/Verified = Matriculated/Verified ratio
Don't want to waste time/energy on super low yield schools
- Rutgers, Kansas, Minnesota, Utah, South Carolina
Kinda don't want to go to a school located in an area without much to do (still want safety some schools)
- CMU, Creighton, UV, VTC, West Virginia

I was not aware of that, although I won't be taking out loans for med school. I've read your previous posts and see you're not exactly a fan of CNU. I've removed it from the list as they don't seem to accept many oos - 7. I interviewed at University of Missouri, SLU, Stony Brook, and Miller.

My preferences for a medical school are:
Most important: Getting in somewhere
1. Decent clinical teaching - I think nearly all med schools have this
2. Research opportunities - not the biggest research guy, but I still understand its importance for matching
3. Autonomy - non mandatory classes (I learn better on my own).
4. Collaborative/friendly atmosphere
5. Bigger city - I want stuff to do to have fun and bond with people with (a social life is important - links to 4.)
6. Misc. - Dedicated step study time, close to campus clinical sites, P/F, etc.

I apologize for the double post, but the following are the schools I have not applied to and am having trouble differentiating between (I have applied to the ones not in this list). I am trying to add some of these schools to my list that I have a decent chance of getting into to create a more balanced list without sacrificing my above listed preferences too much. However, I don't know which stat to base my chances of getting in on. Is it Matriculated/Verified, interviewed/Verified, total number of OOS matriculants, OOS class percentage, do I compare IS interview acceptance to OOS interview acceptance, or do I look at some other metric? Suggestion or advice on schools to add to create a more balanced list would be greatly appreciated!

Unlike the other schools on your list , Northstate has chosen to deny its students access to federal loans and payback mechanisms. Were you aware of that?
Were you interviewed this cycle?
😱 What? Why would they do this???

You have many state public schools on your list that accept few non residents with no connection to the state. I suggest these schools:
University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine
St. Louis
Creighton
Tulane
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Medical College Wisconsin
Western Michigan
Oakland Beaumont
Miami
South Florida
Central Florida
NOVA MD
Wake Forest
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Commonwealth
West Virginia
George Washington
Georgetown
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Penn State
Seton Hall
New York Medical College
Albany
Hofstra
Einstein
Quinnipiac
Vermont
Tufts

The finances of thier investors are more important than those of their students.
🙁 That’s so sad. And pre-meds will literally do anything to attend medical school...even take out 300k in private loans smh. They know us too well
