So chronology is important for me to review. What have you done the last 2 or 3 years, noting that COVID restrictions were ongoing? Specifically what have you done with coursework, clinical exposure, community service, and employment?

You are competitive for DO schools with your stats and I suggest these:
WESTERN
TUCOM-CA
TUNCOM
AZCOM
ATSU-KCOM
DMU-COM
MU-COM
UIWSOM
PCOM
NYITCOM
Touro-NY
ACOM
CUSOM
You could receive interviews at some MD schools and I suggest these:
California University
Charles Drew
Arizona (Tucson and Phoenix)
TCU
Creighton
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Drexel
Temple
George Washington
NOVA MD
Belmont (when it opens)

Roger that, here:

1st in 2020, 2nd 2022
Post-Bacc courses (anatomy, physio, cancer, clinical heme, microbio, applied immunology, genetics, bio, pathology, medical term) (35 units)

Of note, I do have rural connections, my uncle is a farmer in NorCal, and I have military family in riverside.

In the 2-3 years I have gotten 400 hours of shadowing (maybe more). 72 hours of which was on-call sleeping at the hospital. But also have been present for end-of life discussions, complex diagnosis management, etc. Got all the research I listed above, 4 publications (1first author, 2 second author, 1 middle author), 3 oral national conference presentations, 6 national conference posters. Within this last year I have been volunteering in primary care, but more specific homeless medicine, because of my life I wanted to go back and provide medical support there.

I just want to make sure I'm not overshooting or undershooting, so all advice would be amazing.

Which medical schools are associated with the hospitals where you work (it can be more than one medical school sending students for clerkship rotations, but if you know, that would be good to know)? It may be worth a geographic-focused set of MD schools in addition. I can't guarantee anything, but if the schools work with or have specific programs that address the populations you have worked with most recently, you could be a good mission fit.

I am unsure whether you would be eligible for NHSC, but check for AHEC programs if they have a program office at the schools on your list.

Great, thank you for the insight. I will see geographic-focused schools.
However, you don't have a "list" you believe I should apply?

I don't tend to do lists. I focus on mission-fit. Given your location in California and the social equity focus of many of the California schools, especially to patients within their immediate region, you may want to check whether you might be a candidate that would pass through their mission-focused screening. Since many California programs screen without a very strong emphasis on racial identification, your service orientation in the last two or three years should help your cause when you speak with them BEFORE APPLYING. They care a lot about homeless/houseless care.

Great, will do. I can contact some schools and see.
Thank you for the guidance and advice -- truly appreciate it

@Goro any insight would be appreciated regarding a school list.
Thank you
