How is my school list shaping up?

MN resident
510-12 mcat, 3.39sGPA, 3.5-6cGPA, 4.0 post bacc
40hrs shadowing- mostly in PC
500 hrs CNA work
150 hours of volunteering with homeless vets and in the ER
sort of a non-trad (graduated two years ago), currently working at a research asst. position
One or two low-impact publications

NYITCOM
UNECOM
PCOM
TUCOM-CA, TUNCOM
WVSOM
RVUCOM (both campuses, grew up there)
WesternU
ICOM
CCOM
DMUCOM
KYCOM
LMUCOM
KCUMB
ATSU-KCOM
LECOM-Erie
AZCOM
BCOM

Is that enough newer schools or should I add more? Applying is starting to look friggin' expensive.

Add U MN to the list

Suggest swapping out ICOM and UNECOM for MUCOM, VCOM, and/or OHCOM

thank you

Oh, any reasons against UNECOM? It's one of my top choices. I've heart they're big into OMT but I went to undergrad in new england and would love to be back in/serve in that area.

Also, are VCOM and OHCOM not as in-state-biased as I thought?

No to the latter. I advised against UNECOM because most people who go there are from the Northeast. But your tie to NE makes it worth it.

FWIW, ATSU-SOMA has a clinical site in Washington DC, so you would only be in Arizona for a year. May be worth an app also.

I recommend looking up all the CHC site locations for ATSU-SOMA, you could end up spending 3 years at any one of them and they're all over the country.

Marian University was a fantastic program. Chose DMU but often wish I had gone to Marian.

This is true but DC is continually one of the last chosen CHCs, along with South Carolina and Ohio. If the goal is to be in New England, or even just on the east coast, there’s a good chance of that happening.
