What is the difference between the two?

No difference. A university is composed of multiple colleges, including a medical school or an undergraduate school. The difference between school/college is purely stylistic.

what the hell is this a real question? :smack:

In England, "college" denotes an association of several universities.

it's just semantics. it also allows schools to avoid having the same initials. in new york it's completely necessary. how many schools are there again in NYC? haha
