I'm preparing to interview at school psych and clinical psych PhD programs. I have a pretty good idea about what to ask and what I might be asked during the clinical psych interviews. Can any school psych students comment on things I should be prepared to answer that might come up with the school programs specifically, above and beyond the common questions that clinical psych faculty/students might ask? Or questions I should make sure I ask at school programs, that are especially relevant to judging quality of the school programs?

Thanks for the insight!

I have mostly been asked: what is your understanding of the role of a school psychologist? Why do you want to be a school psychologist/how did you discover this field? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What are your strengths and weaknesses as a student?

I have asked what the demographic makeup of the average public school looks like around the school as well as about clinical opportunities.

For the most part, my interviews have consisted of me asking a lot of questions about the program in general, which would sound the same as clinical programs, in terms of the basics (what is the cohort size? What do faculty-student interactions look like? Etc) Good luck!
