You're missing the biggest perk about Columbia. You'd be able to walk into a party wearing a hat and robes, say that you are a Columbia student, and have the women flock to you like you're the Fonz. Are you saying that this isn't true ???!!!111oneone111!!

You can go to Nova and say that you "went" to Columbia Undergrad. But I'd rather see you pretend you have an English accent and say you went to Oxford.

PS, I love threads started by people who only have 1 post until someone comments on it. Then that person is forced to relog on and post a 2nd response. OMG, my situation is sooooo real! They've overplayed the school rankingsk, what are my chances, dds vs dmd theme. One thing missing is an affirmative action thing.

I'm sure there is an AA thread coming. Actually, there hasn't been a "NYU/USC/BU/Temple sucks because ____" thread in a while. Some of those got ugly, especially the Columbia beat down threads from I think 2 or 3 years ago.

Seeing a ranking of dental schools would overwhelm certain schools. Applications to the Top 10 schools would be non-stop..and the bottom ranked schools would be waiting...waiting...waiting....

I wouldn't mind it..that way everyone could apply to schools 1 through 10, and I can waltz right into school ranked 59 and have a personal tutor for all 4 years due to low enrollment...yeeessss!!!

All of the schools approved by the ADA are supposedly all held to certain standards which would make the rankings all subjective as stated before by other posters...

won't happen cuz there's a shortage of school. PPl apply to schools they can get in to.

People have a pretty good understanding of what the better schools are...I doubt a ranking would alter the number of applicants to individual schools a whole lot. Certainly, the lower ranked schools wouldn't end up with less applicants...hell, they may even get more applications from people hoping to squeak by. All in all, there are only so many spots and always more applicants than spots...

It's funny I almost went into marketing dental supplies...most people that know me tells me I should do that instead but I am not sure...I thought about working for Patterson Dental...I actually got an interview from them but declined b/c they require people to stay with the company for 3+ years...who knows I might end up doing that afterwards....🙄...its either that or ortho...

When SHC chooses Columbia, she also is opening more doors than she realizes. For one, she'll have an easy entrance into one of the country's top business school, and she'll get in for no other reason than because she went to Columbia dental. Rankings do matter extremely there. Who knows? Maybe a DMD/MBA'll help in nationally marketing dental supplies. In that case, no dental specialty can touch that income.

She can also attend Ivy mixers, since she's so obviously into the Ivy boys.

Hey now...You got into Columbia and most likely thought about attending there as well...so that picture could have been you!!!! 😛

Haha, while those technically are doors, they're wee little hobbit doors. If you're going to school to market dental supplies, you could probably save yourself roughly 4 years of time by cutting out the ol' DDS. As far as the income thing, if my memory serves me right Bill Dorfman's income is split down the middle between Discus Dental and his private practice.

Of course, he didn't go anywhere fancy like Columbia 😉

I won't argue about the Ivy boys thing, can't get that anywhere else, though in my mind they all probably look something like this:

Sure, Can you be my sugar daddy? 😀

You DO know that having a sugar daddy implies that you'd have to sleep with him over and over right? I'm not sure propositioning dudes you don't quite know colors you in the most favorable light.

According to urbandictionary.com :

1. sugar daddy

Like a genie - he may be a little old, but if a girl rubs his lamp, he'll grant her wishes.

So, no sleeping involved. However, we can all have various interpretations of this definition.
