So I have posted this in a few places but figured many people were wondering this and getting a little antsy like I am...

I was wondering which schools offer rejections on a regular basis PRE-INTERVIEW (but post-secondary) and which just wait until the end of the cycle and notify everyone at the end (or not at all).

So far here is a list of schools that I have gathered that notify people throughout the cycle:
-CCOM
-LECOM-B
-RVUCOM
-NOVA

Schools that wait:
-PCOM
-MSUCOM

Please comment with any additional schools and I'll try and update this as time goes on!

AZCOM tells you hold/reject mid-cycle. Western does as well (at least they did last year)

I'm sure most would agree but i HATE the policy of simply waiting until the end of the cycle to notify you.

If you aren't interested, just tell me so I can get on with the cycle and make other plans. It sucks sitting around waiting for a school that has no intention of contacting you.

Agreed. But there comes a certain point where you realize that you have been rejected and are just waiting for the letter/email to make it official...I'm looking at you PCOM.

Or you could be like NYCOM who employs the brilliant strategy of waiting until mid way through the cycle to even begin inviting people for interviews.

I just don't get why they do this. Seems to me that by then, most quality applicants have been accepted and placed deposits down on schools and are no longer "in the market". Seems like they miss out on the chance to enroll a good % of qualified applicants.

Actually, I believe this is what NYCOM wants. This way, they end up interviewing D.O./M.D. applicants who were actually interested in their program and not pple who are using them as back-up.

Don't contradict me in front of the children...

Yeah, that could very well be the case. On my interview day they asked everyone if and how many MD schools they applied to. My interviewer pressed me hard about it.

A quick search of my gmail reveals that I've had a rejection post secondary only from VCOM and have gotten holds from DMU and LMU, as well as AZCOM (correct as always, DbDan).

btw, mom, dad, stop fighting you're ruining my birthday party

Does anyone know about LECOM-E, Touro-CA, Touro-Nevada, and UNECOM? Do they reject pre-interview throughout the cycle or wait till the end?

Western puts on you on hold although they may or may not tell you.

I still haven't been rejected from LECOM-E for the class of 2014  Touro-Ca will wait until the end and then invite you to their MPH program if you are a borderline applicant (at least according to them). Someone else will have to answer for Touro-NV b/c I got interview invites there and UNECOM I never applied to.

Touro-NY sends rejections via email as well. I can, ah, verify that.... 🙁

If anyone else can contribute to this please do! There are lots of schools Id like to know about as far as notification goes...

to add to the list, I was rejected from KCUMB and VCOM straight up

Touro-Nevada rejects post secondary also. Received about 3 weeks ago.

Good call. I updated that thread with the info I could provide.
