Hi everyone!

I am applying to DO and MD schools this cycle and I was wondering if you knew of any schools that provide good opportunities to utilize my Spanish and American Sign Language skills (volunteering in free clinics, Deaf-friendly clinics, etc). I am interested in going into primary care, and service work is very important to me.

I'm in-state for Ohio, and besides schools in San Francisco, I'll probably stick to schools in the Eastern half of the US.

I'd hate to lose my language skills while in med school....I appreciate any suggestions you may have!

I know that NSU requires students to take medical spanish and they also require a rural-medicine rotation so that might be an option for you.

Puerto Rican schools will help you utilize your spanish. Other than that it is on you to find stuff because no specific med school (other than NSU per above) is going to value it.
