So I just got into a school that is on "probationary accreditation."
Is that something that I should be really concerned about and even not go because of? I don't want to go to a school and then half way through have it lose it's accreditation. But I also don't want to lose out on this opportunity. I read that it is very very rare for a school that has accreditation to lose it completely.
Any advice?

That seems like a bit of a pickle. I would look into the university itself and see if there are any questionable issues the university has dealt with, especially in regards to their health professional programs. If it is a well-known and well-liked school I don't think you would have anything to worry about. The downside of being the "first" class for a program is not knowing how well the program is functioning in terms of preparing you to be an OT, unfortunately you will be the experimental cohort, since many OT programs rank themselves based on their pass rates for the NBCOT. If I were you I would talk with the program chair and/or program staff about your concerns and ask questions about the program (such as what material will be covered) and look at the curriculum and classes and compare those to already established programs to give you an idea of the material you should be learning. I would also look at the standards the ACOTE sets for OT programs and compare them to the program you were accepted to. I know OT school is very competitive and getting in anywhere is a huge accomplishment. Just be weary that if something happens and they don't get fully accredited what you'll be losing in terms of (time and money). Just weigh your options and concerns.
