Hey guys, I would really like to know where I should apply given my stats

3.52 overal 3.51 science gpa

36R MCAT

EC's: 500 hrs clinical experience
2years research
job where I work 40 hr/week
Orientation Leader
RA

I will be applying as socioeconomically disadvantaged as I have grown up in a low income household in a low income neighborhood for the majority of my childhood (4-18)....Furtheremore, my gpa for the first two years is a 2.8 due to extenuating circumstances in my household (parental terminal illness....little to no income during those years which resulted in me working to provide for my family....stress was just too much at that time). Thus I have 6 C-C+ grades, 4 which I have retaken and have gotten 2 A-s and 2 A's respectively...

given my stats and brief profile, where do u suggest I apply? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Enter your GPA and MCAT score into this attachment file. I did not make this. It was made by another poster on SDN. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this spreadsheet! When I entered in my information, my LizzyM score came to 71.2...alot of the schools that I wish to apply to fall in this range (plus or minus 2)....such as UCLA, MSSM, Cornell, Yale, etc...

I am a New York state residence attending a competitive private university in NYC....what schools do you think I should apply to given my current stats? Do you think I have a fair chance of getting into the aforementioned schools listed above given my current grades/scores plus disadvantaged status/background?...furthermore, where else do you suggest I apply given my stats? Any comments would be greatly appreciated...thanks again!

Apply to all of the NY state schools, and some reaches (Cornell, Yale). You can basically apply to any of the schools that say "go for it" on the spreadsheet. Keep in mind that some schools value the MCAT score more than the GPA, others do the opposite. So make sure that you apply broadly. I would suggest applying to no more than 5 reach schools.

ive been away from sdn for sometime but thank you all for the responses. Two final questions that I have is do you know which of those schools on my list favors a higher mcat over a higher gpa and vice versa? Additionally, are there any schools that look advantageously into ones background if there are from a disadvantaged or minority group ( I heard stanford considers this but I am not positive). I would really like the answer to these questions. Thanks again!
