Schools sent email saying discussing students helping public health officials

Our school sent an email stating that we might be asked to help public health officials. The capacity of this help is unknown. Has anyone else received this information from their school?

In the absence of more information I cannot comment specially. However, in past times where the system has gotten overburdened they have activated medical students. In the Spanish flu pandemic, they got a starring role helping with ventilaton and what not.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that it's a courtesy just in case all and absolute hell breaks loose.

Otherwise it just might be "if you show symptoms, then you may need to cooperate with public health officials"
