Ugh. I honestly think these are the scores i deserve, and what im capable of, and im happy with my scores. I'm dyslexic, and have the reading rate of an elementary school student. Do you guys know of schools that might not be so crazy on the reading part. I cant go to schools like bu because i have all prereqs at a community college.

I'll be graduating with a bs in bio when im 26 if age makes a difference. And i go to uc riverside.

And these scores are with the time extension on the test.

3.1 science

Unfortunately... the RC is pretty important for a lot of schools... although you do have an extenuating circumstance...

Unsure...
What...
To...
say...

Call up the schools?

Everything is against your odds.

I did a quick search on predents, and there were some people who got a RC 14 and an acceptance. Though, it's predents and you don't know if it's their real score for sure and what other parts of their application could have helped them. Many of them had higher GPAs and were URM. I think it will be difficult, but not impossible to get interviews. You need to have an overall GREAT application and a good PS where maybe you explain your RC score. Your GPA is on the lower side, so bringing it up will always help. It may take a masters and a retake though. Getting an A in some more English classes certainly couldn't hurt either.

So like no school is going to take it under consideration that im dyslexic?

And i thought it would be a positive application wise that im dyslexic. Like even though i have this, i still made it through, and my scores are around everyone elses except for the reading. But when you said its agianst me, do you mean it as in like the school wont want me because they think i wont be able to do good there or something?

Many of us don't have experience with this. It might be beneficial to call and ask the schools you are interested in applying to.
Best advice, hands down lol

You should call every school you want to apply to, find out what you can do to make your application more competitive, try to include your situation in your PS. In general, if you have a question for SDN regarding your application, calling the school is generally the best option.

You'll obviously have to retake. Just read, read, read. Read before you sleep. Read after you wake up. Read while you eat. Read while you take a ****. Even read the closed caption when you watch TV. Read baby!

Bad news is you are gonna have to retake DAT, but the good news is you can definitely improve on your RC. Scoring high on RC isn't always about reading fast, so choose a strategy that works for you.
