I have heard that Drexel and Temple are pretty interested in postbacc students. Anyone else have insights? We can put a list together to help future non trads have a better shot of getting into school!

University of Pittsburgh is pretty interested in non-traditionals. I was going to go there until one of my state schools accepted me. The late dean, Dr. Curtiss, made it a priority to recruit non-trads.

Rush, UIC, EVMS, NYMC and VCU are nontrad-friendly...and definitely Pittsburgh. Their glossy brochures talk about it time and time again.

This thread comes up over and over and over. All schools will be receptive to postbacs and nontrads. You will have a tough time finding a single allo school that does not have in attendance at least one person over age 30 and multiple people who have done postbacs. You disadvantage yourself by selecting schools based on supposed affinity for nontrads, as tons of nontrads also make the same selection, and no school is going to fill its class up with nontrads -- that defeats the diversity of having a few village elders. Apply broadly, based on where you want to go, and where your stats appear realistic.

U of Pittsburgh also very heavily looks for research experience, no?

I recently visited the AECOM website and they seem to have a good mix of non-trad and trad students.

My personal theory is that post-bacc friendly schools tend to be nontrad friendly and vice-versa. I'm not sure if ALL schools are equally friendly to nontrad/postbacc. I have a pet theory that non top 20 schools may be friendlier to postbacc in that they have a wider pool of candidates and they may figure, if all else is equal, why bother with letting in someone who had to reapply (doing a postbacc). I guess if it was someone who did a post-bacc because they decided on medicine, it may be different, but at the super competitive level, I can imagine some adcom thinking that given all these kids with 38 MCAT, give it to the kid who only took it once vs. the kid who had to retake it because they didnt' get in the first time.
