Hi all,

Are there any specific MD programs that notoriously place high value on quick secondary submissions? I am absolutely swamped right now (while working nearly 60 hrs/week) and am trying to make myself a realistic plan. I know that schools may be more lenient this cycle but was just curious. I have heard that Tulane is one school for which a quick turnaround is pretty important. Any others?

First of all, wow, good luck in your secondaries and your application to 33 schools! Your LizzM and WARS scores look amazing and I hope you get in!

I'm not an expert so definitely take whatever I say with a grain of salt, but I think you should probably prioritize secondaries that explicitly recommended a turnaround-time of 2 weeks (I can only think of Case Western and Wayne State at this point...) and schools that are your top choice/mission statements align well with who you are.

Some of the schools themselves are running into technical difficulties and many students are expecting delays due to COVID-19 so there may some leniency in submitting secondaries later than 2 weeks this year, although it's safe to assume against it.

However, the bottom line is I think you should definitely not sacrifice quality in order to submit early. If you think you need more time to submit the best application possible, I would say that is more worthwhile than rushing all your secondaries in 2 weeks.

Thanks so much!! Good luck to you as well.
That makes sense & was definitely in line with my plan (I'm trying not to rush them). I appreciate you mentioning Case though, I'll have to reread that secondary invite!

I hear Tulane is seduced by the earliness of the application (being done in late July or so).

I would just do them in the order they come in. That way it'll be one less thing you have to research

From my experience, Keck is one school I know that cares about early submission as they send IIs out super early, don't know if you're applying there though
