I realize IIs now and going forward are slim but I thought it would be nice to post a list of schools that you either know from this year (website, adcom, email, etc) or last year's thread that will continue to send out invites this month. False, unless the interviewers I have spoken with are misinformed we are done as of tomorrow. I suppose if they have a straggler request from a senior enough person there can always be exceptions made but supposedly the last interview invite batch ends this week. Most interviewers have a set number of slots left to interview and the numbers are things like (10-20 more applicants). That's really not many when you consider these are people who interview 5-10 applicants/wk most weeks.

Let's be careful about giving too much false hope, guys. The fact is if you haven't gotten any interviews at this point in the cycle, you have got to start fixing your application NOW and plan to reapply (preferably 15 months from now so you actually have some time to make substantial changes to your application). Staying in denial and hoping something will magically change in the next couple of weeks can only hurt you.

No need to be so negative. I went from 1 invite to 7 in back to back cycles with minor improvements in my app.

Realistic. If a realistic perspective makes you feel that negative you're going to find this journey pretty tough. I made my statement as a warning. If people wait until March or April to realize this is not their year, they will have little choice but to wait a full extra yr. Back to back cycles is doable IF you actually made improvements during your app yr. Many people don't (instead, they usually backslide).

I wish I could delete your comment.. I specifically asked in the original post not to post comments about not having hope, etc... naysayer begone!!! BTW you are in med school.. don't you have better things to do than rain on our hopeful parade?

I think part of the point of this thread is to give hope to those who have actually gotten some interviews, but are still hoping on those one or two schools they really want to go to. Seriously, get off your high horse and stop raining on people's parades.

Also a lot of the schools above have sent out rejections, so it may help shed light on those who may continue to be considered for a late interview.... a late interview is better than no interview at a school. nymc is a great example.

The goal, regardless, should be "to become a doctor" if that is, in fact, what you want to do. Hopefully, some of you will get some interviews. I simply don't want to encourage people to write letters of interest to my school when they are wasting their time (since we are no longer offering interview slots AFAIK).


That all said, MCW offers LATE, LATE interviews (into April), as does OHSU. They both will probably continue to make offers thru most (if not all) of Feb.

The goal, regardless, should be "to become a doctor" if that is, in fact, what you want to do. Hopefully, some of you will get some interviews. I simply don't want to encourage people to write letters of interest to my school when they are wasting their time (since we are no longer offering interview slots AFAIK).


That all said, MCW offers LATE, LATE interviews (into April), as does OHSU. They both will probably continue to make offers thru most (if not all) of Feb.
