Really disappointing to hear that Louisville is done with interview invites already. 🙁

I would say Case is either done or about to be done sending invites. They were scheduling invites into April and they usually full by Feb...
Indiana might be done sending invites as well, they will just give exact time for those post Dec people they invited but they usually done by Feb as well.

I meant that schools like Marquette, Louisville and others try to schedule enough interviews so they don't have to interview kids after December. Instead they can just pull kids off the NTBC list. Louisville schedule a few post-december interviews last year.

And last year predents showed 7 students receiving post december from Ohio St. Predents seems to represent 1/5 of the total applicant pool, but are typically the more competitive students.

FutureDent- Where are you getting this information? I have spoken with someone on the Louisville admissions committee and this doesn't seem to be true at all (for Louisville).

Doc toothache's post december interview link and from the class of 2012 and 2013 acceptance threads. Doc's link shows no post december interviews, granite it's only based on predent statistics, which represent an estimated 20% of the applicant pool. And several applicants posted in threads that when they spoke to Louisville adcoms they said that they had an extensive NTBC list they would choose from before interviewing new candidates.

**I re-read the threads and and did see a post from a student who received a January interview and was accepted. Admissions said they were done with interviews in February and would fill the rest of their class using the NTBC list** I deleted my other posts because they were inaccurate and misleading. Sorry about that..

I am not sure, but I think it is next to be called. That just makes sense to me. Anybody please correct me, because I really do not know either, next to be called just sounds good to me.

Haha, you definitely do not sound ignorant asking that. It's juts an acronym i picked up on while reading some old threads. But yes, It's Next to Be Contacted. It's a wait list with a more optimistic title.

Man when I walked out of my Louisville interview I was stoked because they made it sound like only a few people would be rejected, half get accepted, and the other half would be on the NTBC list which would eventually be accepted! It is definitely a wait list but the title makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Futuredent good luck on your upcoming interview. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the faculty and students at Louisville.

Haha, thanks spud. Yea, calling it the NTBC list definitely makes you feel better. And it sounds like they do take a good number of kids from that list. I'm not sure what percentage, but let's be optimistic.

so how do the schools tell you that you are on that list? Do they email you before an interview -- and the list is somewhat of a list for students who will be called for interviews incase there are still open slots -- or is it more like after you are interviewed they may place you on the list?

It's just like a normal waitlist. It's a decision made after the interview. They will e-mail all pre-december interviewees on december 1st telling them whether they have been accepted, NTBContacted, or rejected. I'm not sure how many interviewees get rejected on December 1st, but I don't think it is too many.

I believe Louisville mentioned that they do not fill their class on Dec 1.
U of L increased their size of OOS this year -who knows how last year numbers will reflect this year trend.
Overall all schools I visited seems make an implied statement-"since you went as far as interview it is very unlikely we would reject you Dec 1". So mostly I think it is accept, waitlist or on hold... rejections are usually send somewhere Feb- March...
Was very impressed with my visit to Uof L as well.
