I can not find any evening continuing ed courses for chem/bio - I'm I'm in NYC!
I can't afford the NYU tuition which is where I am matriculating - anyone know of evening / weekend prereqs in NYC?

I don't know much about NYC...so this may be wrong, but I recently got contacted by Columbia from New York wanting me to consider them to finish my bach with them. I looked at their school and they do offer a pre-med program, but I am not sure the time they offer classes. Maybe they could be an option? I don't know tuition prices for them, I just know they are Ivy so it may be expensive. That is the only New York school I know of off hand that does the science courses

Check out CUNY schools such as Hunter or City. Hunter college, where I am currently registered as a postbacc, offers a late afternoon bio course. It starts at 5:35pm. They also offer a chemistry section during the weekend.
I am not up-to-date on City's course schedule, so you'll have to look for yourself. There are other CUNY campuses which offer these courses. If you choose to take courses at a CUNY school, beware the registration process can be extremely frustrating.

Hope this helps.

Thanks - adcoms will accept these without prejudice?

if your class fits the prereqs....your good to go
if the class is a community college then you better get an A in it. those are accepted, but not exactly applauded if you get my drift

I don't see why there would be a problem. There are students from private universities and ivy league schools who are enrolled in the postbacc program at Hunter. It is a 4-year school as are others in the CUNY system. They are city schools, it's true, but that doesn't mean they are worthless. There are awesome professors at some of these schools.

I can tell you more about the Hunter postbacc program if you like, just PM me.
