sent an email to AACOMAS customer service (not applying yet) to confirm if 3 classes count toward the science GPA. I got a reply from them that they are not directly involved in verification, but that the public health class would count toward science GPA, the bioethics course (course title is bioethics at the 200 level) would not count toward science GPA, and biological anthropology (falls under anthropology 200 level listing, but class title is biological anthropology) would also not count toward science GPA. The reply did say that was his opinion and he doesn't work in verification. Looking at AACOMAS listing, it appears under "other science" courses that bioethics and biological anthropology are both listed. Is there no way to find out ahead of time until you apply if they count? anyone have any experience with this? thanks!

I have had more success calling their customer service number with course abbreviation as it appears on your transcript, department that the course is under, and official course description at the ready to read to the person on the phone. In sending emails I have also received unhelpful responses providing all the same info. Even over the phone it is hit or miss and they don't tell you 100% what it will be classified as. It doesn't make sense to me that you don't get to know exactly how competitive you will be as an applicant.

If the above doesn't work, maybe try calling a school's admissions office to see if they can help. I would assume that a class would fall under the same category across the board.

I don't think individual schools have any say in AACOMAS's calculated science GPA. Most of the time, I don't think they do any re-calculating of applicant GPAs from AACOMAS's reported GPAs, either.
