According to the BCPM GPA Conversion system, all math classes are part of it.

What about math classes that are considered remedial?

Classes such as Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra. (@ Community College)

How about non-science remedial classes?

Does AMCAS factor these type of courses into the Science GPA even though they are not considered college level/transferable courses? I know every single course has to be input, but are these calculated? Some people say YES while others say NO because they are not considered college level.

I have been reading several places getting mixed answers, so I just want to make sure what you guys tell me.

Thanks,

Eddie

Anyone know any info on this?
I always assumed I was bad at math so I had to start with "elementary algebra", the class before intermediate algebra. When I used the AMCAS GPA calculation spreadsheet I counted it as a BCPM course and the GPA it gave me was exactly the same as my verified GPA.
So I am going to say that they do count.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but i would like to learn more about this myself.

I have taken intro to alg I and 2 at a CC. These classes will not transfer to the university i plan on transferring to since they are remedial, therefore, they will not count towards my GPA in anyway at said university.

So i am wondering if these remedial classes will count towards my amcas gpa. These two math classes were not even 100 level classes.

Does anyone have any definite answer?

Yes they count towards your BCPM but just doesn't count as a college level math class if your wanting to transfer from CC to university or fulfill a math req obviously.

-I had to take one of those math classes
