I’ll be receiving a committee letter from my undergraduate institution but as part of their committee process, they have you submit individual recommendations letters that will be included with your committee letter. I currently don’t have any letters from a BCPM professor. My letters from professors are from engineering and humanities professors.

I had a meeting with my committee. They said I should think about getting a BCPM professor to write a letter as well to make sure I meet LOR requirements for some schools. They had a previous applicant who didn’t get interviews and they think the lack of a science/non-engineering professor LOR could be why.

It’s a little fuzzy on MSAR on whether a committee letter trumps specific LOR letter writers requirements. I’d appreciate any insight! I’m a few years post-grad so it might not be super easy to get a BCPM professor to write a letter.

Committee letters supersede individual letter requirements, but your committee should require the science letter if they think another student was not accepted because of it.
