Ok, maybe this is a REALLY stupid question, but how would you go about simplifying this the quickest:

3.0 x 10^8 / 6.0 x 10^-7

(note "/" means divided)
and the answer is 5 x 10^14

3/6 = 0.5

8 - (-7) = 15

answer = 0.5*10^15 = 5*10^14

To adjust the decimal point, I like to use the mnemonic LARS (Left Add Right Subtract).
