Hello friends, I m about to appear for TOEFL in a couple of days. Even though i have a good hold on the language, i dont seem to score well on the modle tests. Why is it , and how do i sharpen my skills further. Any sugessions are absolutely welcomed. I will greatly appreciate your responses.Thankyou.

For reading refer to the original text for every question.
listening section jot down notes. u WILL be provided with paper and pencil during exam
Speaking section - go to the nearest restroom and practie talking to yourself in front of a mirror. u may select the same topics that u got at mock test
Writing - read tips given in barrons . they're good

U know,
Its extremely hard to improve the English other than the way we have been taught at school.
If u have time Wren and martin is an extremely awesome basic English Grammar book. Read it might help.
Or study any book for GRE regarding meanings of words and all.
I've heard a lot of my Engineer friends telling me that preparing for GRE made TOEFL a cakewalk

This may sound weired but watching FRIENDS everyday really helped me improve my American English....

I agree about Wren & Martin. that book will help.

yup...Wren and martin is a fantastic book..rememberd this book while readin the post....one big trick to solve reading section is jt gv a quick look to passage and jump directly to questions,,and then accordingly search for answers in passage...I did this and scored 28/30 ..this way u save time.
