The list of programs with unfilled positions after the residency match 2014 will be in small/rural hospitals or they will also be found in large hospitals too? How quickly these positions will be filled? Do one have to travel for on-site interview and presentation or they just a telephone interview? Please share your experience.

From what i have heard....positions from all types of institutions will be in the scramble, not always strictly small programs. Positions seem to be filled pretty fast. I think the rule is to go through Phorcas again but idk if that really happens 100% of the time. Interview style will depend on the site, i know people who had phone interviews and some who had onsite, or both.

Scrambling sucks. lol. Sometimes, I honestly feel like I got super lucky to find a great spot post match. There was a range of programs last year that ended up in the scramble. There were a few big name programs that I was surprised to see in the scramble, medium size programs, and small rural programs. Some places also ended up in the scramble because they received extra funding for some additional spots.

When you scramble, it's basically like starting over again with researching programs and applying to them through phorcas. I think I applied to 5 programs in the scramble, and received 2 invites. 1 was on site and the other was phone interview. I know some places are doing skype interviews too.

Does one have to pay $25 for applying to each scramble/unfilled position?
