THIS IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING I’VE EVER HEARD OF

A) from Vermont, B) spouse is VERY Irish and we must have at least one pound of butter in both the fridge and the freezer or they’re like “WE’RE PRACTICALLY OUT OF BUTTER”, and C) did I mention I’m from Vermont?
TREAT YO SELF!!

Irish butter is the best butter

*this is how I found out they’ve increased interest even more since I started*
Girl it was 9.09% last year but I had a bigger HPSL so I managed to avoid Grad Plus. If I did my math right I’m taking out $360k but it’s going to be almost $420k by the time I graduate (which I did NOT take into account interest accumulation otherwise I might have made different choices)

I’m so sorry………..

False. Pineapple.

But grape is good... though toxic to dog...

Grapes are a delicacy to me because I cannot keep them in the house because of the dog. My family doesn't understand the importance of keeping them away from her, so we just can't have grapes at home. The scarcity makes them even more delicious.

I offhandedly mentioned to my kindergarteners once that I liked grapes but did not buy them for my house when I was working at the elementary school. They kept trying to give me samples of their grapes from their lunches for the rest of the year. Kids are so sweet sometimes.

We do have a jumping spider that lives in our bathroom named James. If he wasn’t a jumping spider (aka cute and small) I would have a major issue. But, I watched him take down a gnat once and well, respect.
Jumping spiders are excellent housemates
They're great! I'm thinking of getting one as a pet. I had one that I named Inky living in my apartment, but reddit informed me it was female and I didn't want her having 2,000 spider babies in here so I put her outside. She made a nest outside the building so I knew she was safe 🥰 There's a ton of regal and bold jumpers that live outside my apartment so if I ever get an enclosure I have access to tons of free pets hahah

im going to the oddities expo in denver on oct 3rd. i very much want to get some wet specimen, bones and framed insects! i have a death-head moth in a shadow box, but the wing was ripped during my move :C very sad
Hell yeah I'm big into oddities too! I've always wanted a death-head moth in a shadow box but I don't have specimen money so I made one with my cricut lol

Apologies for the delay everyone, I intended to handle close but have some family stuff going on and had to step away for a bit. Three cheers for @kaydubs for keeping things moving and always being the best co-mod :biglove: Writeup incoming.

Night 2: Ducks on the Loose

ducks GIF

The fairgrounds hummed with life well past midnight. Lanterns flickered in the warm breeze, casting long shadows over shuttered booths, while the smell of popcorn oil lingered in the air. Workers moved about quietly, tending to their secret tasks, though not all of them would see the dawn.

At the duck pond, things were never quite normal. What had started as a simple game of hooking rubber ducks had turned into something far stranger, thanks to its eccentric keeper. Alongside the plastic prizes swam a small gaggle of actual ducks, a bizarre crossbreed of carnival kitsch and barnyard chaos. “Keeps the customers smiling,” the attendant always said.

But come morning, smiles were hard to find. The attendant lay still beside the pond, their watch ended by a single vicious blow to the head. The rubber ducks bobbed silently in place… but the live ones? They wasted no time. Freed from their quirky caretaker, they marched out into the fairgrounds, quacking triumphantly.

By midday they had claimed the midway as their new domain, scattering cotton candy, knocking over lemonade cups, and chasing terrified children away from the funnel cake stand. Carnival workers swore one had even stolen a ribbon from the livestock barn. The ducks weren’t just loose - they were in charge now.

The fair had lost a friend, but gained a waddling, feathered menace.

Dead is @indysadventures, who was the Duck Pond Attendant, a village commuter, who could choose to leave the fairgrounds and make themselves immune to all night actions on non-consecutive nights.

It is now Day 3

As the sun rises over the fairgrounds, an odd hush falls over the midway. Something unseen lingers in the air, like a whisper carried on the wind.

One fairgoer feels it most strongly - a heavy pull, a compulsion they cannot resist. Their hand seems guided by something not entirely their own. Whatever the cause, it’s clear to everyone:

VAMPYRICA MUST BE THE FIRST TO VOTE TODAY

No votes will be counted until they have done so.

The fair continues… though some swear they hear faint laughter echoing from the empty rides after dark.

Vote closes at 9 pm EDT TOMORROW, 8/20

My fellow citizens -

My heart is broken for indy and their family. We have lost a valued member of our community and must not rest until we have found their killer and brought them to justice. We are strong and resilient fairgoers, and I believe this tragedy has the power to unite us and make us stronger than ever before! With that, I defer to vampy, who must start out our voting today.
(Also...I'll work on cleaning up the ducks. Unless someone has a strong attachment to them. Then they can stay).
In other news, I regret to inform you all that I have been poisoned and have limited time left to live. If there is a doctor among us, please do not feel obligated to reveal yourself, but I would sincerely appreciate your services.

Let the ducks stay. They're all we have left of Indy.

And poisoned?! What?!

I read it in my quote as Timothy McGee popped to life in my post
