If you guys are like me - you have been all about applying to Pharm school. You think about it during the day... at work... at school... in bed...

For some reason though - I cant seem to sit down and get my PS done. So despite all of my efforts to get everything else done in good time (you know, classes, LOR's, PCAT, transcripts) - I still dont have my PS done.

THIS WEEKEND I WILL WRITE MY PS!!!! This weekend, I will lock myself inside my apartment - no gf, no tv, no internet. Just the my wits and my PS to keep me company. Sound crazy - maybe a little...

...so all I wanna know is... who is coming with me...

Who is going to write their PS this weekend - Get it done - Get it out of the way!!!

Post if you are down - or simply to lend some support - Motivation goes a long way

Im with you on this one. The probelm is Ihave been trying to do mine for theree mothns now and I just cant seem to wirte anything worth teling the comitte. or at least put all my material togteher in an creative way.


what are you guys writing about. What you have been doing, why you are a good candiaite? A stroy about how you came to chose pharamcy as a career.

I was thinking about....how i fell in love with pahrmacy in high school, but began college as a liberal studies major, becaucse as the reslut of the enviorment in which I was raised (one that did not forster strong porofessional ambitions for women like myelf) I felt that a Pahrm D was out of reach) But then In college, I couldnt staind the liberal studies and relaized how much more i wanted to be pahrm and realize my full potential. Iwanted ot be an educator, form behind a pahramcy counter or bedise, not a desk in a third grade class room. I could not stay away form the sciences or pahramcy. I changed my major to bio tech and started working in pharmacy. I love my job, I couldnt ask for more. and puruing this career was the best decion I have ever made. I am comitted to it and it has shown though to my famly and they too now belive that its possible. as a result I have inspired younger females in my family to purse ther professional ambitiosn as well.


I dunno....do you think that thast shows weakness?? like i'm too attched to my family, or that since I gave in to them (my familys expecations of me) at one point, then may be im not mature enough or that I dont have the deciapline to finish the program?

I have been putting it off saying "when I'm free..." Well no work, no tests, NOTHING! I WILL DO IT THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!

hahaha...this thread brought back alot of memories of me around this time last year. My advice is to just sit down and start writing. Have friends and family members read it to offer some advice. Good luck!!

Oh no. I'm in the same boat too. I keep telling myself I'll start tomorrow... but it hasn't happened yet.

I have been brainstorming ideas of what I want to talk about and how to organize it, but nothing has actually been written. Once I get started, I know it will be a breeze... it's just that whole getting started part. 🙄

It just freaks me out to think about the PS. But I cant do it this weekend ( i know.....procrastination) because i gottta work.

And even if i do stay home anyways, there is always chaos in my house. Either my mom is yelling or my siblings are playing the stupid X-box and screaming, or this or that. Anyone want me to join them in thier quiet abode?

Hey guys - its looking good. I slam dunked both my A&P II and my Organic I tests today (HELL YEAH) - so I am all set for this saturday!!! Im glad to see a couple people out there are in the same boat as me... To respond to an earlier post - I dont think you should be so worried about how your PS "might" come across. The idea of the PS is to show the reader why you have chosen Pharmacy - and how you got to where you are is a big portion of what you have to say. Good writing coupled with a sincere message will go a long way to making sure we get into pharm school. I really think writing from the gut (or heart) is what they are looking for. Lets get it down on paper (or screen), and we can worry about editing for content later.

Alright - I'm gonna try to get some work done (I think that is what they pay me for)

I did my PS last year, but can I join your group to do a scholarship essay that's been hanging around my neck like a granite boulder on a chain? Or is this just a PS group?

I finished the simple one today (gleaned from my PS actually), but still have the bigger (and thus bigger money)one to do. Hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow, but if not it will be a Saturday activity.

Good luck to everybody. I hated the PS part of the application process.

I procrastinated and did my PS the night before I handed in the application.

And same with my scholarship essays... I did it until like 4AM and then mailed it the next day... and then reused the same one over and over again 🙄

I REALLY wish I had the ability to do things early 🙁

I admire the enthusiasm and zeal. I will do the same. Whenever I'm studying for a test, I like to have someone study w/ me, even if it's not for the same test, I felt I always had peace of mind if there was someone suffering through it with me. In any case, I am going to take this opportunity too to get some good work done on my PS. Thanks for the enthusiasm and motivation. This weekend is devoted to FINISHING our personal statements. Hurrah!

i finally finished mine and pasted it. all i need to do now is to request my transcript and start doing the supplemental applications. I'll probably Hit the E-submit button sometime this week once i can make up my mind about the schools to focus on.

hey, thanks for starting this thread and thanks to everyone who posted. It was a great motivator for me. I was able to finish one of my supplemental essay questions. I didn't make efficient use of my time this entire weekend, BUT i did get one thing done at least. Thanks again for the motivation, let's keep this going.

Things are looking good - I finally ironed out all of my references this past thursday. So as soon as they get there (along with some transcripts) - I'll be ready to E-submit. The real goal is to have your stuff in (including supplementals) by the closing of August. That will put you in first tier for just about every school - maximizing the liklihood of matriculation.

So how is everyone else doing...

I know Ijeoma just got accepted off the waitlist to Temple (I think). anyone else???
