I recently experienced an unexpected event that required me to involuntarily leave my residency program at the end of my PGY1 year. I am looking to speak to a program director and/or academic attending for advice.

I understand the vagueness of my request is suspect, but it's not something I want to write about in a forum. I'm emotionally blunted, completely burned out, and just need to speak someone for advice on how to continue residency.

I am asking anyone in the anesthesia forum to please DM me and reach out to talk. I'm sorry I can't be more forward.

Well, I hope things work out for you. One thing to be positive about is that they are letting you finish the year and/or giving you credit for completing your internship. That alone opens some doors.

Go to the General Residency forum. There’s a program director there. Think he is easy to find. Since his handle has program director in or. He should be of help.
