SDN status: That time of year again

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Actually, I'm considered a medical school student here at MCG...Well, only for CME dinners/talks 🙂

1. I have nothing better to do.
2. The internets is serious business.

Some people sure are touchy over the status icon.

More important reminder: It is just the internet, not serious business.
Shhhhh. Don't make me post that image.

HOWEVER, a school can still take away your acceptance until school starts. THEREFORE, don't change your status to medical student until you have started med school..lol.
You are not serious, are you?

I just received my BA and I got a 4.0 this semester(guess I don't have to worry about my acceptance being rescinded). Guess What? That makes me a medical student ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !:meanie:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see a status change!

Until you matriculate, you are not a medical student. That said, you all do what you want with your precious little SDN Statuses. You're the only ones who care. Believe me. 🙂

osnap!

I'm not changing mine until after the white coat ceremony. July, here I come!😎

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing. In all honesty, I'll forget all about SDN and status changes for probably a few weeks after I move to NYC anyways.

Methinks once you pay a school your deposit, you're a medical student.

The whole thinking that you could change your mind at any point during the summer and so therefore you aren't a med student is stupid. Last time I checked, you can change your mind all the way through 4th year. Guess what? You're still a med student.

Technically speaking, once an undergraduate graduates and has already got all of the paperwork done for medical school admissions, shots, etc, they are technically a medical student.
Every lending institution would beg to differ. You're not a med student until you register for classes. End of discussion. As for what your status is, who cares? Your advice about med school isn't going to be particularly useful for some months after school starts anyway.

no, you are wrong...SDN, and the greater internetz community, does care about what I do, about what I write on these forums, and pretty much everyone is a fan of my blog (especially my recent entry on what I ate for lunch on Saturday).

So when I change my status from pre-med to medical student, its actually a pretty big deal. Chances are, the day will be announced as a national holiday, so I am looking into changing my status on a friday or monday (you can thank me later...).

On said day, I expect full acknowledgement from every SDNer, and the health community...possibly a call from the HHS secretary to congratulate me on this fine accomplishment.

See? Everyone will care...

Get a life! I guess I do not take SDN as serious as someone with over 5,000 posts. These SDN nerds take everything so serious. I could care less about SDN and your comments.

I'm pretty sure that you and zipmedic agree with one another.

Sweet. I'm gonna be an 'Astronaut Dentist' now.

Ok, I had to drop my 2 cents on this utmost serious issue. Until the minute you set your foot at whatever big event they will throw at your school and they say to you 'Welcome to Med school', you are still considered a lowly undergrads (grad for me, IJS - i'm just saying). So I would advise whoever reads this to not even think about changing their SDN status. End of discussion. This is not a democracy where you get to do whatever you want. This is the internet. Got that!

Wow, thanks for that trip back to middle school. I really appreciate it.

Ok to another SDN nerd. lol

To be honest it is funny how some people feel that they can type what they want and feel as if I should not say (i.e. type) something back. I am not here to start any crap, but I will not take any.

I am done. peace out nerds

I am thinking of changing my status just to piss off the people who take this **** to seriously off.

Edit: Changing your status is fun!! Look at me mom! I am a Medical student
