SDN is being monitored by adcoms. around the nation. I know ya'll have probably heard this at one point but I am here to tell you again, be very VERY careful as to what you say on here. How do I know? Well... Last year I applied to this certain school and I found out about 5 weeks into the process that my A+P credit would not satisfy the A+P I & II prereqs. (like in most cases when the two course sequence is required). Well, I got on SDN and vented about what I thought of this school...Then it happened...I got a letter in my P.O. Box from an anonymous person who warned me to watch what I said on SDN and that people were monitoring it - and that what I said could have an impact on my acceptance. It was signed simply "A Friend". This letter was stamped in the same town as the school so I know someone on the staff sent it..... It was just really weird to know that people were watching THAT close, not to mention they knew automatically it was me. Something to think about...😎

Scary. *look at past posts..*

Honestly, I don't see what's wrong with venting about what happened and whatnot. I'm sure people talk bad about schools all the time on blogs and whatnot, but it seems interesting how they would take such an interest in fingering out certain individuals because of an angry rant. If the adcoms are confident in their school and program, then they should have no problem with people venting about it because if their program is indeed a very good, solid program, then it should be able to withstand some angry applicants. That's how I see it.

well then if thats true... id like to take this opportunity to say:
wayne state!
lecom!
midwestern!

I 😍 YOU!

Well, I would like to take this opportunity to vent about a few schools.....

UH Hilo Rocks and so do both midwestern schools! 👍👍👍👍

I guess that was the complete opposite of venting, but you get the point.

lol so did you change your username and delete all personal information in your contacts?

i wonder how they would know if you don't put your name down or the same email address you used on application.

How did they know it was you, BADD281? Did you come out and tell them you are BADD281 on SDN? I guess if you said enough specifics about your interview, then your interviewer could suspect it was you, but even then...

No actually I did not tell them my S/N...I guess my email inquiries about the issue and the subsequent rants made it kind of obvious. I just think the internet is very dangerous when it comes to this...We all know how the Facebook/Myspace stuff works against applicants if schools see things that are unprofessional or illegal for that matter, and this is really no different. Just be smart folks.

Make your facebook/myspace private if anyone is worried about people reading that stuff. Or as for myself, I just keep it clean anyway. No one likes a potty mouth.

thats so scary. =/

Actually, it would be kinda cool if there was an advisor or professor that sometimes popped in to give advice to us.

Well us college kids lost facebook like 2 years ago to the younger kids. It used to just be for college students with a student email.

I would be aware of it - and utilize it as a tool. I was directly contacted concerning my posts on this board - it didn't effect my acceptance - but I did get a call from the director of graduate admissions concerning the issue.

More often then not - it is a student at the school that notifies admissions / staff about the issue.

I can say for a fact that the Adcom from my school monitors SDN (why wouldn't they) - especially the thread of those wanting to attend Pacific.

I find this funny  Imagine them browsing thru your posts and stuff, and then they're like "hey, this kid posted in the dental, pharmacy, md, do, etc boards. And now he feels like becoming a pharmacist, REJECTED!"

Well, if the Adcom at TTU is (are) browsing here, then they can feel free to PM me. I'll be applying in Sept. to attend the Amarillo campus for Fall 2009. I'll be glad to divulge my name (via PM)!

I'm passionate about becoming a pharmacist and am not ashamed of anything I've written on here! Not all my posts have been wonderful, but I'm not ashamed of any of them!

I think it would be a positive thing for them to get to know the "real" me and my opinions. It wouldn't bother me one bit. If after reading my posts they don't want me (and how could that be possible!😛) then I'm apparently not the right fit for their school. However, if they want an outspoken, caring, committed, passionate and focused pharmacist-to-be...then here I am!

Appreciate me now...and avoid the rush!
