Seals and Submarines

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Submarines have been coed for a couple of years now.

Ever since GI Jane washed out the SEALS have remained male only

Cue Love Boat song.....

Um... no. These weren't junior enlisted getting drunk and hooking up with each other on shore leave. These were hardworking Sailors (and all officers!) being victimized without their consent or knowledge. The criminals that did this were literally crawling through the f-ing ventilation system to film them showering.

This is exactly the kind crap that the Navy needs to weed out. Not just the behavior of the people who did this, but also any implication that that this was somehow the women's fault for being on the sub. Could you imagine an executive at any civilian corporation, hospital, or college making the kind of smirking remark you just made if he found out that some of the new hires had set up hidden cameras in the women's bathrooms? He would be ****canned the same day, and for good reason.

Is GI Jane related to Hanoi Jane? I could see giving the dumb schmuck a bcd, but 2 years in Leavenworth is a bit much. This sailor worked on SLBM which makes one sleep well at night.

Here's a zany prediction: this isn't the last time that this will happen.

You really don't think that we can prevent even the most egregious misconduct on subs?

I don't like talking politics...especially politics that have no chance of changing.

Instead...I'll present to you process of active horse breeding.

There are four players here:
1) The Mare- female horse
2) The Stud- breeding male horse
3) The Teaser- non-breeding male horse
4) The Handler- the human 4th wheel

When a mare is in heat she is often acts aggressively toward a male horse trying to mount her. So instead of risking his prized stud, the handler will have a "teaser" horse approach the mare to see her reaction. If the mare becomes agitated or aggressive toward the "teaser horse", to include bucking him...the handler knows that she is not ready to be mounted by the stud. However, if the mare shows affection toward the "teaser horse"...the "teaser horse" is yanked away from the scene with a giant stage hook, Bugs Bunny style. Then the Stud makes his entrance and goes to town.
