The school that gave me an II told me who will be my interviewer. I searched her name on Google and got to know some of her information. During the interview, should I show that I knew her education experience and research? How will interviewers feel when they know that the students searched her information before?
Thanks!!!

I feel like unless she brings up her educational experience and research, it would seem creepy if you randomly brought it up.

Why did you look up her interests? Was it to give you an edge during the interview, or was it so you can tell her you looked her up?

People connect over shared interests, and knowing what she's interested in can help you connect organically during an interview. Telling her that you looked her up can only have a neutral or negative impact, she may expect people to do it but it's not something you would discuss during an interview...

Of course, I won't mention it randomly. But we did have a lot in common. So I was wondering if she introduced herself, should I show that it was my first time knowing that?

Please don't be like this guy:

You're applying to be a physician and not a stalker 😉

The only kind of interviews this might even be remotely acceptable for are MD/PhD interviews (since most schools ask you for interviewers with your research interests, and you probably had to look them up to determine whether they matched your interests).

Even then, going as far as into their personal life/academic credentials/other stuff is just taking it too far.

Thanks for all the input here. What I meant was their introduction on the school website which contains their specialties or research interests. Haven't thought about being a stalker or searching for information on Facebook. But thanks for reminding!

I don't think its unreasonable to check out the LinkedIn of a faculty member if you're curious, just to see if you have familiar academic/research interests. I would NOT mention that you looked them up in the interview.

I looked mine up, because I applied to a mission based school. My interviewer was one of the ones who headed up teams for global outreach, and I got to ask about that (I am genuinely interested in it) during the interview.

Not all research is creepy or stalking.

A school I just interviewed at said they stopped giving the interviewee's the interviewer information *specifically* because people looked it up in the past. Apparently one said something along the lines of "hey Dr. X I heard it is your dog's 5th birthday today" because they found their FB. I don't think some interviewers, at least, are fans of this.

Lol wisdom right here. Yeah that's pretty consistent with what Paul White at JHU said on the Case Western podcast: All Access: Med School Admissions Episodes | School of Medicine | School of Medicine | Case Western Reserve University

Acknowledging my goodboy/girl's bday is a fast-pass to acceptance in my book

If somebody knows the kitteh's birthday, their research skills are beyond crazy.
Still, stalking...

Wow. That is unsettling and creepy.

My grandma's cat was 100% possessed by a demon, and I'm allergic. So I'm glad I'm not alone
I question why I got mine every day. Woke up this morning at 5 AM to satan's spawn gnawing at my legs so that I could play with him.

This accurately describes my children
My daughter has just entered the “able to wake herself up to go potty in the night” stage (finally!) but sometimes she comes to our bed instead of going back to hers so I will wake up in the middle of the night with feet in my face and drool on my leg...kids, man
