As I am exploring many options, I would like to get my options arranged to enter an accelerated BSN program.

The problem is, most of them start in the summer. As I don't graduate until June 14, 2007 and all accelerated BSN programs start in May or earlier June.

As a result, I would *really* like to find a program that starts in Fall (preferably) or Winter so that I don't have an awkward random year of. All I will have is a biology degree and I hate lab work and I sorta need a job that provides health benefits.

Anyways - as I don't want to waste a random year I'd like to start school between mid-June and January... earlier the better.

Due to massive debt already and future more massive debt from grad school, I would prefer to stay in-state.

So - if anyone knows of any schools that have accelerated BSN programs that start in fall or winter, I would really appreciate it 🙂

Well I am unsure if I want to do an MSN program or go another route, so I was thinking about doing a 1 year accelerated BSN program and work as an RN. I can then enter a regular MSN program, a CRNA program, a PA program, etc.

Plus, if I were to do a direct entry MSN program, I'd stay here at Ohio State.

University of Michigan begins in the fall, and the program at Rush University begins in January. No other ones come to mind- and I've mainly researched places in the midwest/chicago area, because thats where I am from.

hahaha how ironic. I go to Ohio State - I am pretty sure there is an Ohio law that forbids me from attending the University of Michigan 😛

p.s. ohio is in the midwest... although I am not quite sure why...

From the explanation I've heard, anything west of the original 13 colonies (until you hit the West) is considered Midwest (minus the south).

My accelerated BSN program was in Kansas City, although that is probably too far away for you.

Yep. Heck, even Pittsburg is close to being Midwest! 😉 And once you cross the Mason-Dixon line, you're in the South.

Shhh...we won't tell anybody. 😎

Yale begins in August.

eek. their per semester tuition alone costs more than tuition and fees at my current university for an entire year, including a full time summer.

i totally just realized that kent state accelerated nursing has starting dates in fall, spring, or summer. i can live at home too. whee.

I'd go for Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. They have a 12 month program.

They have a 1 year BSN program that is easy to get into.

All you need is:
A&P 1 and 2
Dev Psy
Microbiology
Ethics
Stats

Talk to Dr. Cain....she is very nice.

Do they require labs with anatomy & physiology? I can't take a physiology lab. I have already taken an anatomy class with a 6 hour cadaver lab and I have taken a two quarter med school taught human physiology course without a lab.
Other schools won't let me take their combined anatomy & physiology combined courses for a grade because i have already taken the lectures and at least half the labs and therefore receive transfer credit for them.

So.. it has to be a program that doesn't require a lab with physiology or that will potentially waive that requirement.

hmmm...That is a good question. I'm not sure on that one. Again, try calling the school and ask for Julie or Dr. Cain at the nursing school. They are pretty easy to talk with.

Wow... okay so I just discovered that you can start fall, spring, or summer at Kent State and it is like a 25 minute drive from my house.

*smacks self*
