Hello.,
i was wondering how this works... do you have to take gen ed classes like english and history again or do you do only classes specific to your major. please let me know if you have any experience or information on this !!!!

usually 60 hrs from your original BA can transfer, with up to 15 of those hours counting to your major. So if you took english and history, you don't have to take them again. But if the school requires speech in their gen ed requirement and you haven't taken it, you would take it there.

It depends on the school. Usually schools will have core classes, and there is almost always some requirement or two in the core that either you haven't done or they make you take at the school. When I was considering this at Temple, they would have forced me to take freshman English and several other core classes with freshmen 👎 despite Temple accepting over 100 credits from my first bachelor's degree. After a certain point, the number of accepted credits meant nothing; the classes I would get of mattered instead. Expect 60 credits to be accepted without a problem, perhaps more.

Therefore, try to get your transcript audited before you even apply so you can figure out what classes count for what prereq. You may have to apply and be accepted before they do the audit for you, but the application fee you spend to get that information could save you a lot of headache down the road.

check the school you want to go to. I only had to do stuff towards my new major... no english, humanities, blah blah... I do have to take a minimum of 30 or so credits at the new school

Also be aware that not all schools will accept students for 2nd bachelor's degrees, and some schools will only accept a student if they are applying for a certain major. A lot of the time, the applicant must explain their reasons for wanting a 2nd bachelor's degree and must show a definite change in direction of study (ie: they can't get a 2nd bachelor's in biology when their first bachelor's was in physiological science).

well i havent graduated yet. ... but i am done in december... its probably too late for me to change my major now... and i wasnt really planing to apply to another school. So what is the next best option.. just taking classes for undergraduate credit? The only thing with that is limited enrollment.... so i might not be able to take the classes i want to take when i want to take them... this is so confusing...

The options available to you depend upon your situation. Why were you thinking of getting a 2nd bachelor's?
