So...

On my mobile portal (which, by the way, how many people were also chosen to be beta tester about 3 weeks ago?) it says my mail-out is "Pending" rather than the normal "Not Mailed"

Although, my AADSAS page on my laptop will says "Not Mailed" and has no mailing date.

Is that the same for all of you other second batchers?
 
my application is complete with GPA verified and it just says not mailed for me on my computer, I don't have the mobile portal but I was wondering the same

same here, regular site says not mailed and mobile says pending!!
 
i called them because mine was verified last friday and i wanted to make sure mine got mailed. they said that the next mailing won't be until next friday... and they said this is because they mailed out the first batch a week early... that pisses me off bc i would have been in the first batch and now that they messed up it costed me 2 weeks instead of just one..
 
The person I talked to today said "yours will be mailed out today"

My transcript from one university was received on the 19th. Then, yesterday I log on and it says the same exact transcript from the same university was received on the 19th and 28th...it actually showed this at the same time when I clicked on the "Transcript" button.
Today it showed the transcript was only received on the 28th. I called AADSAS about this and the guy, who is wonderful and very polite to me, said that this was a mistake on their part and would change the received date back to the 19th.
He told me this WOULD NOT put my application to the back of the pile. I, of course, fail to see how this can be true, but who knows. I am guessing though, because of this mistake, my GPA will still not be calculated and therefore my application will NOT be 2nd batch 😡 even though I had everything done over a week ago.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? You may want to check your Transcript button! If something similar has happened, you should call them to fix it, as dental schools will see the date of when your application is labeled "complete"...which doesn't happen until the last transcript is received by AADSAS.

I talked to a guy just a few minutes ago. I specifically asked the guy at AADSAS if the first batch was mailed last Friday. He said yes. Then I asked him if applications will be mailed out every Friday, and he said yes.
 
WELP! its official...

Second batch goes out NEXT Friday... The guy said there is NO official mailing scheduled for today.

Which is saddening.
 
This happened to me as well. I had 5 transcripts sent in and all of them were received except for one of them. Another one of the transcripts was showing up twice. I called in and they actually had the one that was missing on my "Transcript" button because they had it listed under the other one. All of the transcripts were received by the 12th and would have had my GPA calculated in time to be in the first batch, but now I will be in the second. At this early in the game it probably doesn't matter if you are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd batch.

Has anyone had their app mailed yet? or does the website even say a mailing date for you?

When is the timeline regarded as second batch anyways.

I am taking DAT , middle of Aug, and be ready everything by end of Aug.


Am I considered as second batch ?
 
I e-submitted my app yesterday. Will I go out with the second batch? Does your GPA have to be verified before they mail my app? How long does it take for that, it says 4-6 weeks!?

And this has probably been asked a billion times, but is there a significant advantage to being in the first batch over the second batch?

No, your app will not go out with the second batch since GPA verification would take more than a week at this point.

How long do you guys think GPA verification will take if I submitted my app on the 19th but my last transcript just arrived two days ago? Will I make it in the next batch for next Friday? 🙁
 
^ Can't really say. No need to stress about it though because it's out of our hands at this point.

No, you are not considered the second batch. The second batch is for those students who have the GPA verified and transcripts received and application submitted by next Friday, the 6th. The letters and DAT scores don't need to be in for your application to be sent out. Those get updated automatically. That is actually a bunch of batches behind, the end of August, as many students have already received interview invites by then. I would say that's probably the 9th or 10th batch based on their weekly schedule.

If I indicated which schools I wanted the DAT scores to be sent to when I registered for the exam, is it possible that the schools may have received them even if it is not updated on AADSAS yet? And does it even matter which schools I indicated when I registered if AADSAS is the only way the schools receive the scores?

Your application will be considered complete without AADSAS receiving your DAT scores. Therefore, AADSAS will send your app... but schools will put your application aside until they receive your official scores from AADSAS.

So... basically, there is no difference besides the dates. You will have to wait about 3-4 weeks from the time you finish the DAT and when AADSAS will send out those scores. then your school must receive them and process them and out your app up for review.

right, it's second batch on paper..but that has no bearing if the schools don't have your updated scores.

so in reality, you'd be like 7th batch when it is all said and done

Do you think it's a good idea and do a lot of schools accept if you fax them your dat scores or you should just wait until aadsas sends them out?

If you've taken the DAT recently or will be taking soon, I suggest not faxing them since most schools will only consider your application complete once AADSAS has them verified. However, if you're taking it in October/November, I would contact the schools directly and see if they will accept them. It's still early in the application process so 2 weeks for our scores to update to AADSAS seems like a long time, but in reality many people haven't even taken the DAT yet.

It depends on the school. I would fax or email them if possible. The sooner your application is in the better.
 
Guys, I have a question. Does it matter what batch you are in the summer? When do schools, generally, start processing and reviewing applications? To clarify, does rolling admission still apply to June - August applicants?

The guy at AADSAS, when I called, said "it looks like your app is marked to go out this Friday" but you would think that it would show up in the school designation section.

Hopefully the dates get put up this afternoon.
 
For the people whose app got mailed out before AADSAS received their DAT scores, is it safe to assume that AADSAS will forward the DAT scores to the dental schools within a week?

The lady I spoke to said it should be updated tomorrow.
 
GOOD NEWS! haha.

My biggest fear is to look at my application and see that it wasn't updated and for everyone else to say "MINE WAS SENT TODAY!"

and then to call and the AADSAS people basically say, "hmm, that's weird, yours was complete, it should have sent out. welp! we'll look into it, it should send out by next week."

No mailing date for me yet, everything is complete though. Hope it will be updated tomorrow!
 
does anyone's have the mailing date posted now? Mine doesn't 🙁 My GPA's were verified this Monday, 07/02. Everything else is complete too.
 
Just called, mailing out today but status on aadsas site won't change till tomorrow.
 
Mine was verified almost two weeks ago and there's still the pending status on the mobile thing and nothing on the website. Does anyone have 'mailed' as a status for theirs? I'm freaking out!
 
Mine was verified on 6/27, I esubmitted on 6/19 and still nothing.... it says "not mailed" =(

I wonder if its because my DAT score hasn't been posted yet. When I registered for the DAT I didn't know which schools to send my score to, so I left i blank. And a week ago I found out that scores weren't sent automatically. I had to call ADA to tell them to send my scores to my schools. Does anyone know how long that will take? I took my DAT on 6/8, which was a month ago...

Positive? I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope the status changes tomorrow. Know what specific time the status will change? Or by what time the status should have changed, and if it doesn't, you know your app wasn't mailed out??
 
Okay so I checked before I posted, and my app status was not mailed. I just checked again and my app status has changed to mailed! 🙂
