Would having two withdrawals on my transcript be a huge deal? I'm a senior now, and my first one withdrawal organic chemistry 2 during my sophomore year (was doing poorly and decided to withdraw and retake it). I am currently considering dropping a music class. It's an extra class (typical load at my school is 4 classes and this is my fifth), and it's purely an elective I'm taking for my own enjoyment, but it's taking up a lot of my time and causing more stress than a fun elective class should. Would withdrawing from a music class look bad if it's my second withdrawal? My GPA is otherwise quite good.

btw my school does not show if you were passing or failing at the time of the withdrawal, it just shows up as an W equally (although I am currently passing).

Since it's a non-required, elective class, I doubt it would look that bad. Though, I am no adcom.

Are you able to make it pass/fail? I'm not sure if that looks better than a W. But, if you like the fun elective but want less stress, that may help.

Thanks. I can't make it pass/fail at this point, but I'm leaning towards withdrawing. I think the fact that I'm already taking a full load in addition to this class plus the fact that it's a music class and not science should be enough to explain it away, but I wanted to hear some other opinions

yes, I think this would look terrible. If you were going to withdraw why did you sign up for the class? I understand it's an easy class, and totally elective, but W's have a huge stigma after sophmore year, especially in senior. I would just stick it out.

Your fine. We all have Ws although you would be better if you stuck it out. Ws often become the topic of unpleasant conversation during medical school interviews. If with my school did a better job with the whole withdraw thing. They give you about 4 days to drop then after that it is a W even if you get money back or a professor has a scheduling error and moves something.
I have a few of the good old Ws and I don't think one more will kill you but stick it out anyways you may learn something.
