Going back for a second look - ok to go with business casual - ie dress pants, sweater +/- white coat? I got in touch with PD and coordinator and discussed meeting some more of faculty, residents and seeing more of the hospital. Should I take scrubs?

Most places have rules about outside scrubs in the "sterile core," so you wouldn't be able to wear your scrubs on an OR tour anyway. I would skip the white coat, too. Trousers and a blazer or a more casual suit sans tie would be great.

"Trousers"??????????

I thought my old as dirt aunt was the only person in the world that used this word😀

I also agree with ditching the white coat.

I would dress in a suit, with tie. This is still a job interview. Not going to offend people if you overdress, may make their opinion decline if you under dress. You will be made fun of as a tool behind your back if you wear a white coat.

Haha - thanks for all the fun replies guys. I skipped the white coat and erred on the side of formality with a suit and I think it was a good decision, so thanks for the advice!
PS - I'm a girl, I did find if funny that most of the comments were directed towards male attire.

Dont' listen to arch on those guys... bring the coat. It doesn't have to be white though.

It can be leoperdy-green... 😀

Good luck on your interview. 👍

Sevo, coffee just came out my nose, I laughed so hard! Love it - I'm sure I'll be offered a job on the spot!
