So I thought I'd post a question to the big dogs who would actually know (still an applicant right now). I just had a quick question of second look weekends. Is the applicant responsible for getting out there, or will the schools fly you out?
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Houston and Atlanta (Baylor and Emory) again, but was just curious how much it may be costing me.

It depends. Some schools cover part of your travel expenses, provide lodging, etc. Others don't.

Edit: Last year NYU paid for a hotel and a partial travel reimbursement based on distance (I got $100 coming from VA). Other second looks I went to did not provide this perk. (I only had time for a few tho).

Most schools provide housing with current students, but you're generally responsible for travel expenses. Meals are usually provided at events at the school.

If you're MD/PhD, revisits are generally taken care of or at least mostly reimbursed.

What can be expected at a second look? What is the point? What usually happens? Has anyone been to one? When do most schools offer them? Are they only to accepted students? Are they after May 15th?

can someone please post the dates of 2nd look weekend for specific schools this year? would be great if you could also include what these schools offer compensation for (travel, lodging, etc...).
(im interested mainly in stanford, hopkins, u-chicago)
