I got a 24O on my April MCAT, but got a 23O on my August. For the August test, my verbal went up by one but my two sciences went down by one.

Do I have to send the second scores to AACOMAS? Will I get in some sort of trouble with the schools or will it look bad if I don't report the second score? I'm currently in the process of sending out my very last secondaries.

Thanks for yor help!

You need to send it to demonstrate your verbal went up. Some schools take the best score out of each section anyway.

Does NYCOM take the best of each section?

I agree with OSUdoc. I took the April and August exam and my verbal went up by 1, physical went down by 2 and bio went up 1 (so same score). I did submit to AACOMAS the day they came out though. Verbal is an important section, so if you made improvements, then let them know.

Bump. Yea, I had a question about this also. My MCAT score actually went down, which I'm not exactly happy about. It seems unethical not to send my scores, but I'm not sure if I should even bother. Any thoughts?

I have heard from many people that Verbal score is a good indicator of how you will do in Med School and they make decisions based on this subscore. i've heard this from Kaplan instructors and countless other pre-meds. Well, I think that it's a bunch of crap. At my KCUMB interview, both interviews saw my 5 in Verbal and said that was the best section to bomb, because i did well in the 2 science sections. And in my DMU interview they didn't even ask me about my 5!

do i need to send my score if the scores lowered in all sections?

No.

What did you not study or something?

Not unless you mentioned on your primary application that you retook it in August. <I think>
