This is my second time applying. Last cycle, I had a paid clinical research internship that was in progress, then I got fired (bad performance). Overall I think I was there for about 5 months, so it was not a significant experience in terms of time commitment. Is it bad that it will not be included in my activities section for this application this cycle? Thanks for any advice!

A lot of applicants have only 3-4 months of research activity. You can still list it. You aren't obliged to provide a LOR , just a Contact who can attest to dates of involvement. You could provide a payroll office for that, if worried that extraneous information might be added.

Thanks for the advice. Should I just exclude it in case they ask me about it during the interview or something like that? I'm fairly sure that won't happen though. Or is it better to just leave it. Sorry for late reply.

And thanks for that tidbit re: the payroll office, you addressed my niggling anxiety.

I suggest you leave it on the application. Be sure you understand the purpose of the project and your role within it. That's what you'll be asked about.
