Always apply to some safety schools. I'd say that if you apply early and have decent shadowing/volunteer hours, you'll get in SOMEWHERE! To get into the Ivy-Leaguers, you need some great EC's and to be published.

Seems like the state schools you are talking about are Texas schools. Based on your numbers alone, you have a great shot at all the Texas schools, including Baylor. The applicants in Texas are pretty much sheltered from the swarm of applicants from other states because of state mandates requiring residency for something like 90% of their class. You'll get a lot more looks this year in terms of those schools.

Your stats are good, but what about the rest of your application. Goes without saying that you should def broaden your list of schools. Apply to at least 3 safety schools and 3 "reasonable" schools, and as many Ivy's as you want.

What is the reason you did not get any interview invites. Did you send in your applications very early (good idea)? Do you have enough clinical experience? Good extracurriculars? Make sure to highlight all the wonderful things you have done over the past year in your application, how much more experience you now have, and how you are even more certain this time around that you want to become a physician. Look over your whole application again. It's very possible that you had a bad letter of rec or some other flaw that you can change this time around.

it'S impossible to evaluate without ECs, but assuming mediocre/average resume, you will at least get into a Texas school, and I wouldn't worry about broadening your list unless there were other reaches that you really wanted to go to.
