Secondaries/Letter of Rec- can you send more?

The secondary application clearly asks you to state the physician writing your letter of recommendation then the committee information OR the three professors information.

Can you submit additional letters of recommendation? Should you indicate that on your secondary application form?

Some schools do not want more. I can't remember which, but I do remember seeing something to the effect of do not send more than the requested number of letters.

I also have an extra letter, but I didn't put that info on the forms. It's just going to be sent with the others, and they can do with it what they want. I do understand though, that they have a ton of letters to read, so they may not want more. I guess it all depends on the school.

I also did this. I had my boss/master's advisor's letter, a non-science letter, 2 basic science letters, and a DO letter. This fulfilled any and all requirements to all of the schools I was applying to. For each secondary, I reported the LORs that fulfilled that school's requirements + more if there was space. VirtualEvals sends out all letters so every school got every letter even if I hadn't reported them on the secondary. DMU is one of those schools that says not to send extra letters. I called them and they said they understood about VirtualEvals and all that they would look at are the ones I reported on the secondary. Overall, I have not had one single issue with any of my LORs and no comments saying that I have done anything inapropriate at any of the schools.

I have around 8 on file right now, it seems as though when my college prof's heard I was attending they kept asking to send me a LOR school said more wouldn't hurt and may help so with their blessing they were sent. Still no interview though guess it may not be working, have to send more, does anyone know the number to santa?
