I submitted my AMCAS at the end of July (I was in Mexico working in a clinic all summer), was verified at the end of August and got secondaries at the beginning of September. As I am a graduate student, I was unable to turn the secondaries around right away, and started submitting them a week to a little over a month max after I got them (so submitted the last ones this week). Should I panic? I'm applying to MSTPs so I'm not sure if this makes a difference ... I haven't heard anything from the schools yet, other than "complete" notices.

If it helps, my MCAT was VR: 11, PS: 10, BS: 13, Writing: S. I've presented at a major national scientific conference, have had 5 posters at conferences, and am an author on a manuscript in prep. I'm also an EMT, and have done many ECs both in grad and undergrad.

Also, I still have one letter of recommendation missing. I don't want to spam his inbox, but he's gone to a different university so I can't go bother him in his office. Any tips?

Submitted my secondaries at the same time as you. Not a peep. It's only been 2 weeks since and the interview season is beginning. Adcoms are more busy now and they will be a bit slower looking at applications. Just try to relax.

(It's easy for me to tell you to relax and use rationality, but I'm freaking the **** out as well. 🙂)

You MCAT is solid. Your ECs sound really good. Just don't know about your gpa.

You should get the LOR as fast are you can so you can be complete at schools faster. It's rolling admissions so you want everything to be good on your side so schools can take a look at you. If he's not answering your emails, I'd give him a call. It's important to you so you should let him know how important it is for him to write a good letter and for him to get it in as soon as possible so your application can be looked at by schools earlier in the process.

Thanks guys for the encouragement 🙂 !

I got confirmation from the ref. that AMCAS would have the letter by the end of the weekend so fingers crossed!

(My gpa was a 3.96 as an undergraduate and 3.93 as a graduate student).

Think this is good enough for Wisconsin?

Remain calm. I'm pretty sure you'll get interviews, as your app is fairly strong. If Wisconsin is your state school, I think you'll get an interview there.

Good enough for anywhere 😉

I'm applying to MSTPs (MD/PhD). Will that make a difference?

Also, I'm not a Wisconsin resident. I actually don't know where I'm a resident because at this point in time, my home state no longer considers me a resident because I haven't lived there in a while. However, the state I go to school in also does not claim me as a resident. So I'm in residency limbo! (I'll have to apply again to either state and am in the process of doing so). From what I hear, residency doesn't matter for the MSTPs, but may matter should I be moved to the MD-only pool.
