should the list be modified to not include Penn State just yet? i thought we realized that they haven't sent anything yet...

Remember, kids, if you want to add to the list, click REPLY to the most recent version, and delete the two sets of quotes in [] [] the first one looks like quote=username and is in brackets. The last one is /quote and is in brackets. All of the formatting will remain. Also, please try to use as much of the school name as possible so there is not confusion. Thanks! :clap:
 
😕 Has the UPitt been confirmed? I just know I haven't gotten it yet and I was verified on June 14th!
 
i think penn state was a mistake esp. since someone called and they confirmed that no emails have been sent

I got UPitts on Friday and I was confirmed last Thursday. However, they said that everyone receives a secondary so I wouldn't worry...

I was verified quite early (20th) and I still haven't got Mich, UPitt, or Penn 😕 - anyone else in the same boat or should I start being worried?

I was under the impression that University of Pittsburgh screens applicants before sending the secondary. That is the way it has been in the past (I have a cousin who goes there and she mentioned it when I said I was applying there) and thats what the MSAR says about UPitts policy? Are you sure they changed it?

Hmmmhh...I was under this impression too, but after searching their website, it appears everyone will receive a secondary invite. Check out this link:

I got Mich and UPenn right away but not Pitt. I guess it wouldn't hurt to contact the schools and see. It seems like Mich has been out for a while now... 😕
 
Someone needs to post the Pitt questions! Last year they were: 1)an ethical/moral dilemma (250 words) and 2)how can you add diversity (250 words). Can someone confirm if they haven't changed this year? If they're the same, I'll paste in the exact questions for everyone...

Don't worry-- I was verified June 7th and I still haven't gotten UPenn. I called and they're sending them to everyone, but they're doing it in small batches.

no essays unless you have taken a year off, then you have to explain that

That's a great question, because I was looking for it in my Email too, and I could not find anything. I don't think they screen your numbers, because it would take them a little longer if they wanted to screen your application.
Did anyone get Penn State's Application???
 
SUNY Buffalo has the best secondary. Why can't they all be like that one?

someone called Penn State and they said they hadn't sent them out yet. whoever originally posted that they received penn state's probably meant penn.

I just need to finish Hopkins. I can't seem to answer these questions without repeating things that are in my personal statement.

I want to finish Rush and BCM by tomorrow. I think BCM will have to wait though.
I still have Case, Mich, and a few others to complete. 😱
 
do we have to receive a secondary invitation from the school inorder to submit it? I am still confused.

The ones that you can just find online you can submit right away. The others email you with a password and/or id number and you can't log in until you have that.

No, Einstein says not to send until you are verified. You can follow their instructions or just send it in. I doubt it will hurt you but their website does say to wait.
 
For Rush's secondary they ask to list interests "outside of academics." Is research conducted outside of your University considered non-academic?

I would think research is considered academic, I guess it could swing both ways though.

I included things like sports, type of reading, family, etc.
 
i'd stick with items you collect 😀 .

i thought about it like this: if i couldn't tell med schools about the activity, would i still do it for fun?

You have to submit a form to your Dean of Students at your school and they will send it in to WashU. All it is saying that you haven't (or had, with an explaination) disciplinary action taken against you and whether you've dropped from full-time status (and for what reason if you did). It is required and your application won't be considered complete until they get it.

Hey thanks for the reply. according to their website "CERTIFICATION BY CURRENT DEAN OF STUDENTS: Certification form(s) must be submitted on your behalf by an official at each domestic undergraduate or graduate institution from which you have received or expect to receive a degree in addition to any other school in which you were enrolled and were involved in a disciplinary or institutional action"

so if i got a degree from a school and took additional post-bac classes part-time at another school, i need to submit a certification for the first school but not the second since i wasn't invovled in a disciplinary action?

I'd submit it for both since they want to verify that you didn't have any disciplinary action. It wouldn't make sense for them to let you choose which ones to submit it to. 😉

according to another post, jefferson does have an essay, a brief one, right?

I'm having a hard time doing Pritzker's. 2400 characters is way too long to do 3!

the case 7000 character essay was WAY too long. i feel like after i'm done with that i can blab my way through anything 😉
