Pregunta about EVMS: The secondary is on-line, pretty in-your-face actually... but then it says that the adcom "may request" that you send a secondary app. So should I hold off on sending my app and see if they "request" it from me? Has anyone gotten the go-ahead to send theirs?

Gracias!

EVMS screens presecondary. They have their app available, but you shouldn't send it in unless (or until) you get screened. There only been like 1 e-mail sent out to our knowledge and that was to JoanofArc

Is there a link for NYU anywhere?

Hey everyone, if you're working on Pitt's application, I just thought I'd fill you in on the answers to some questions I had emailed them about the course requirements section:

1. I have yet to take my organic chemistry lab--I will be taking it this
Fall. Should I enter it in the application and if so, what should I put under
"grade"?
-Yes you can enter it on the application and for the grade put "CC"

2. 2. How do I enter courses that included the lab? For example, my
Biology and Physics courses were 4 credits each because the lab was included in the class.
-You can simply put "includes lab" next to the course name.

3. Finally, do I have to write more than, for example, Biol 110 under
the course name/number part? I wasn't sure if it is asking for the actual name of the course, which would tell what the course was about.
-You can put the full name of the course as posted on your transcript.

Good luck everyone!

narc asked who got UPenn... I got it on Monday, but I was verified June 7th. I also got their applicant brochure via snail mail yesterday (Tuesday).

I just called Jefferson regarding sending their secondary via snail mail vs. waiting for the email prompt and they told me I should be receiving my email invite today (7/12/06). I'll keep you guys up to date if I get it.

So annoying. I tired to call but Rita is on the other line... probably with every other annoyed applicant.

Don't you think they would test these things before sending them out???

Hey Erina, did you have to call UPenn to get their secondary?

I read in your profile that you have already submitted UPenn secondary. I was verified June 22 and I haven't heard a thing from them. 😡

no i didn't call, they just emailed it yesterday. since it was so short, i just submitted last night. they're probably just sending it in batches, but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask when you can expect the application since i was definitely verified after you.

Erina-- did you have problems with the Jeff app too?

Are there still problems with the app? I don't want to waste my time since you cant even save the damn thing

I tried a few times and then gave up typing the damn thing over and over again. I've been trying to call for over an hour now but they're not answering the line dedicated to supplemental app questions.

If anyone gets it to work or finds anything out, please let us know. Thanks.

i havent tried submitting yet because i havent figured out what i want to write under "any additional info?" or whatever it says...and judging by the trouble you guys are having, i think i'll take my time!

Can somebody direct me to the NYU application questions? Do they have a general secondary already online?

same for miami. it would be great if someone has a link and or can post the questions asked here! THANKS~!

NYU has one optional essay which asks you to tell them what you have been doing since you graduated.

I got my EVMS secondary invite via email two days ago, but I'm in state and have lived in the Hampton Roads area for 19 years. EVMS gives extra points to people in the Hampton Roads area I've heard. Good luck everybody! 🙂

Tried the Jeff application again randomly and it worked fine. Guess they got the kinks out.

BU sent an acknowledgment, they said that they're updating their system so they're kinda backed up

i am extremely tempted to leave the additional info section blank. i have much more to add about myself and about the school but it's such bs that we only get 500 characters. that's like the length of this freakin post.

I think if they wanted to know about your special interest in the school they would have asked, so don't worry about it unless there is something notable since you submitted AMCAS. I'm sure that's just the reason they made it so short.

Do they have a public application like Yale, Johns Hopkins, etc... or do you have to wait for them to send it?

uh, yeah... just noticed that on my printout. i also logged back in to check my status and it still says that my secondary and fee have not been received. i guess i'll give it a little time before worrying, though.

Yea, I think the 2006 app is the only one available on the website. Whoever posted that the 2007 app is out said "only if AMCAS submitted." The poster may have wanted to say verified, as I know you have already submitted.

for those of you who have gotten wisconsin, when were you verified?

Keck's out??

So do the schools do this in batches? I submitted my AMCAS June 8th, verified by mid-June, but I haven't heard from Georgetown or Keck? I can't imagine I was screened out already? Is it sent out randomly? in batches? in the order you submitted? Just curious...

At what point do you contact the school to ask about the secondary?

leahmaria said:

I was verified June 16. I received the e-mail from Wisconsin stating that they received my application on June 22, and I received the secondary invite today, July 12. Also, I am a Wisconsin resident.
