I have last year, it was one of those auto-emails though. Once the school recieves your data, it automatically sends you an a link to the secondary.

I have recieved updates from VCU and (I think MCW?) on a weekend, and have been acknowledged by Vandy and a few others on the weekend.

Also, snail mail..always a possibility 😀
 
Thanks guys for your responses. I just got verified yesterday, and still no new e-mails even though none of my schools are screeners.
 
Hey does anyone have the link for the USF secondary? I have the email, the link to the instructions work, but not the secondary link? I have been trying to access it for a couple days...some help please🙂

EVMS is a screener, and I believe people have been rejected pre-secondary.

The stats from last year's MSAR are 3.41 overall GPA, 3.34 science GPA, 30P MCAT (I don't have this year's stats, but I doubt they're too different).

At least you aren't in the group of Boston Applicants who are having trouble getting access to the secondary invite 😡

You should e-mail Albany this week if it doesn't come in.
 
I recieved an email from Drexel this morning saying, "Supplementals are going out this week."

WOOHOO! That's my last one, especially since I finally filled out that Hopkins secondary this weekend. After drexel all i have to do is check my status at a couple of schools and wait for my last LOR (which alas is holding me back from completion at 3 schools)

Hey- I called LSU New Orleans and the woman in admissions says that it's changed and they don't send emails out anymore...and then she gave me the website which she said I should be able to get to by just going to the admissions website....BUT there is no direct link to the secondary.

I called twice b/c a week or so ago somebody else (or the same person) said I should get an email any day now....Now this lady is saying it's changed? Do they change horses in the middle of the stream????

Anybody else heard this? They've had my AMCAS and letters since 7/18/06.

This rat race- admissions maze sucks.
 
How soon after you were verified did you guys receive most of your secondaries? So far, I've gotten one. I guess I was expecting them all to come in on the first business day after verification.

Most came within the first week after verification (8-ish); a small number the second week (5-ish). I'm still waiting on a couple more, a month after verification.

Emory and Drexel perhaps? 🙄 At least Emory had the courtesy to send us emails on the status.
 
Emory, Duke and Alabama. And kudos to Emory for the updates - supposedly tomorrow is the day. I'd love it if the latter two acknowledged my existance though.
 
not sure if someone already mentioned something, but i am an OOSer and FINALLY got my wayne st. app in the mail today. it was post marked aug 7th....dang it takes a long time to get mail to me.

This is an extremely anal premed question but...


For those of you filling out the Oregon Secondary, for the question asking you to chronologically list activity/work experience for the last 5 years (on no more than 1 page), how brief are the descriptions? What I mean is whether they merely want a list of ALL of my activities, or a page of only the most important (which would mean a 2-3 sentence description for each.) I guess this question goes for all the secondaries, and an attempt to interpret exactly how brief is "brief."

The oregon structure is as follows:

FROM (Mo/YR to Mo/Yr) EMPLOYMENT/ACTIVITES (brief description) LOCATION

i kept it incredibly brief such as:
Name of activity-helped with......., assisted.........
Another activity-monitored......., wrote.........

i only included major things, not every little thing i have done outside of school in the past 5 years

--edit: i kept it brief because they seemed like they just wanted a list, not prose
 
Any OOSers out there still waiting to hear from the University of Washington? I was verified on 7/17 and received their initial letter 7/28.

I received their initial letter, and when I wrote back to ask a question about the MST program, I was told to complete the application. Not sure about MD-only though. Sorry, I guess that doesn't really help you much, danjo.

I received UCLA's secondary today. So you might want to add that to the list.
 
so now im without albany and drexel when most ppl already got both!

For people who have gotten the Hopkins secondary -- was it sooon after they received AMCAS? Did they do screening before sending it out?

My AMCAS was sent out 8/3ish, but I still havent heard from them - should I be worried or should I keep waiting?

you couldve filled it out before you turned in the AMCAS, check their website more closely and you'll find the link

It comes fairly soon after your AMCAS is verified, but it comes by mail, so that might slow it down a little. I assume that by "sent out" you mean verified. But you don't have to wait until you get your invitation. You can just log in now and fill it out.

dont worry, its still ridiculously buggy, even if we get it, most of us wont be able to submit it until they fix all the bugs. I also got UMC today asking me to explain why i should be considered for their app (im an OOSer)

There are a couple short essays:
* Briefly describe (in approximately 100 words) any health-related experience and/or research experience (volunteer or employed). Also, indicate the time and frequency of your involvement. Note: If you have had experience in several health-related areas, list each with a very brief description. Or, you may choose the most meaningful experience and describe it in more detail.
* Briefly describe (in approximately 100 words) any special interests attracting you to Emory.

And then, if you're looking at their MD/MPH program:
* Please describe any past experience in public health and how you wish to combine medicine with public health in your future career (500 words or less).
