Secondaries

I know COMP is sending out some already, but thats all I've heard so far.

My application was originally sent out on june 8th, and then resent with my MCAT scores on june 22nd. On the secondary it says they send it out automatically once they receive the AACOMAS application.
 
Do most of the schools send secondaries via emails or are there still some that send them via regular mail?

Got my first secondary today (7/10) - a snail mail letter inviting me to fill out VCOM's on-line secondary application and submit it along with LORs.
 
Man, I still have not received a damn thing from any school. I wonder what the hold up is 😕

Anyone know the deal with PCOM? I actually got a snail mail secondary from them. Is this a good start?
 
MSU, NSU, VCOM, AZCOM, COMP, OSU, UMDNJ, KCOM, PCOM> So far with interview set up with COMP 😀

ugh. why is aacomas so slow? i turned in all my transcripts by June 14th. I submitted my application on June 22nd. It doesn't help that I also got the fee waiver and so that probably delayed my app a bit since I had to send in a money order.

They haven't even submitted anything to the schools. Seems like most people who are getting secondaries submitted earlier than the 22nd or if they submitted it later used the credit card.

Mine came email, that said snail mail to follow. But I haven't seen the snail mail version yet.

I submitted on June 16th and I have not received jack **** yet, so you are not alone.

thanks that made me feel a bit better...anyone else in the same boat?
 
Did you guys apply with fee waivers? It seems like those applying with fee waivers are a bit behind in the game. The funny thing is though, most of these secondaries are supposedly early this year. It's still real early in the game from what I hear.

I applied with a fee waiver. I was delayed, but I was processed and mailed to all schools as of july 7, and still nothing. I am so anxious to get them done that I have done searches of old posts to get the secondary prompts for most schools :idea:

BTW, my AMCAS was processed as of june 26, but I have not received jack from allopathic schools yet either.

Did UMDNJ contact you to fill out their secondary, and if so how? I see their secondary on their website and it doesnt say anything about waiting to be invited to fill it out so I am curious as this is my first choice.

Was NSU by snail mail or email?

From what I read, EVERYONE receives a secondary from PCOM. I can't possibly see myself having any luck except that I know that the schools actually have not lost my file yet.

I submitted my stuff June 20, mailed to schools July 7, and I haven't received anything. What's this about people getting offers of interview???
 
Look for stuff next week. Everything seems to be coming in sequentially. For example, I received stuff a week after people who submitted their AACOMAS app a week earlier than I.

COMP is the only school interviewing so far. They often offer pre secondary interviews to people they are interested in.
 
For those of you who have secondaries already, could you tell us when AACOMAS mailed you application? I think some of us woulf like to get a rough timetable of when to expect our secondaries. Thanks.

From what I have read and heard, it seems to be 2 to 3 weeks after submitting the initial application.

I'm in no hurry; I'm still missing 3 LOR's. 😱
 
Mine were mailed on Jun 29th and I received the first two about a week and a half to two weeks later.

okay,
i sent my app in on June 23. It was sent to the schools on July 7th. So far I have PCOM, MSU, and COMP (although with no invite to interview as others have been saying).
MSU came 2 days ago and that was the first one i recieved. hope this helps!

I have only gotten an email from COMP...I have not heard anything from LECOMBRA, AZCOM, PCOM, NOVA, DMU, TUCOMLV, UNE, or KCOM...you are not the only one...and my apps were also mailed on the 7th. Don't sweat anything yet.

I am not too worried yet...I still don't have my letters of rec and don't know if I am going to be able to get one easily from a DO...soooo...maybe it is better that it is taking the schools a bit to process everything.

For those freaking out about the time, don't worry things are just getting started. You still have plenty of time.

I interviewed at VCOM on the very first day of interviews last year. It was September 16th. I can only assume they will start interviewing about that time this year as well. A lot of schools start in September. So be happy, you have time. It is still way early.
