I realize almost every school will waive your secondary application fee if you received FAP. Since only 13 schools are waived for the primary application fee, does that mean only 13 schools will waive the secondary application fee, or will all schools waive their secondary fee? I'm just making sure so I don't pay extra if I do not have to pay secondary fees for any of the schools.

Also, how will I know which schools, if I'm only limited to 13, will waive my fee? I received my first secondary, and all it says is, "If you've been awarded a fee waiver by AMCAS, we will waive your supplemental fee." Is it just the first 13 schools listed on my AMCAS application?

Thanks so much.

The way that I understand it is that the first 13 schools that you apply to with your primary AMCAS app. are free. Then any school that accepts FAP fee waivers will wave your secondary fee - it is not limited to 13 like with the primary app. I am not 100% sure on this, but that was my assumption. Does anyone know for sure???

This is true. So far I've only had SUNY Downstate available to begin the secondary, and they just want a copy of the front page of the FAP website once you log in (basically stating you've been approved). I think some schools waive the fee automatically.

Ok, great. So basically if you get FAP, then you won't pay for any secondaries (pretty much)?

Yes, that is the case, unless the school specifically says they do not accept FAP waivers, like NYMC.

Confirmed, NYMC will NOT waive the fee even if you email them and ask nicely 👎

You get an unlimited number of secondary waivers (the schools won't know where else you applied)
